People say GS4 is not innovative and not good looking, and I partially agree. But from manufacturer's point of view, reducing the weight and depth while increasing the screen size with larger battery is more than just a simple innovation. You can't do that without innovative mind trying to reduce milligrams from every part in the phone. Regarding the physical appearance, I was somewhat disappointed from the fact that the look didn't change much from S3. However, I like the rounded edges - it's not sexy but it is ergonomic. When you put it in your pocket, it minimizes the bulkiness. I don't know why people is so crazy about metallic body. It makes the overall weight heavy, which I hate, and it's scratch prone. I currently have iphone 5 and I always worry about scratching it when I carry it in my pocket - I hate myself doing it. IMHO S4 is the best phone on the market introduced so far. Once you buy one of S4 and use it, then you will realize the design concept that the phone is easy to carry, easy to use and sturdy at the same time. when S3 came out, I passed on it due to the low screen resolution, but with S4 I will definitely buy one when it becomes available.

Surely HTC, NOKIA and others do not think like Apple who copied linux and still uses linux as a base language yet denies that they copy others technologies, surely they did not invent the screen, the tab, mobile phone, Bluetooth, wifi, 3G etc… technology is shared.

Design plain and boring like the GS3..blown away by the specs as advertised, though. Kudos to Samsung, a real upgrade. Was thinking of getting the HTC One, which has a way better looking exterior but may reconsider now that the GS4 is out. That is, if I can get pass the plain, plastic look.

Whatever hi-fi samsung provides, its in same old plastic box. They are only interested to bring out huge specs than others. They are not taking into account what customers are crying for long- Design.
Samsung says you take what we provide.
I go for HTC.

Good phone. The AirView (touchless gesture) is the futuristic stuff of Minority Report. Neat camera features too!

Chances are, if you buy a smartphone around this price range you will end up buying some sort of protective covering so whats the point of complaining about the S4 being "plastic" if you'll end up putting some hardcase/jellycase over it anyway?

It may be "cheap" but it has awesome specs. substance over style please.

So as a first time smartphone buyer, I looked on, waiting to see what Samsung has up its sleeve. I saw what Sony has to offer with the Z. I expected something radical and it has not materialized. It is hardly much more of an upgrade over the SGS3, and that felt very cheap and looked even worse. Now I can go ahead and buy the Xperia Z knowing it is the best that the market offers, overall. And as for the limited viewing angle of the screen, that, I consider is a possitive. I want to watch the screen, without everyone else seeing!
