The difference in price across the world is amazing! At this early stage of price guessing for the S4, it goes from $200 [US] on a contract to $900 [AU] for the same phone with other locations sitting around $600 to $650 [US]. Why can't the product be the same price? It's not like a car which is bulky to ship. How many thousand boxed phones can be shipped in one container? It is a rip off. If they want to sell them, then price them accordingly so we don't have to get grey imports from areas that sell the phone cheaper. Many people take the chance but have problems with shonky importers, huge delivery cost and no local warranty.
Anonymous, 17 Mar 2013They are also higher because on Europe, the the average wealth of people is considerably highe... moreBut the price difference between countries, especially in the European market are so drastic that it has caught the attention of government agencies. there shouldnt be a drastic difference in price between each other, after all, it is the same product. dont tell me i can buy the same thing elsewhere for about $200 less.
Anonymous, 18 Mar 2013"You can do those things with iPhones if you look hard enough" And how hard do ... morei can do anything, or almost anything (except smart pause and smart scroll and all that new & neat stuff from note 2 and sg4) with my iphone 5... of course, jailbroken, but still, i can do most of the stuff...
Andro, 19 Mar 201399% of iPhone users also have plastic cover behind. So, whats the point for motel or glass?i hardly use any covers unless i go out partying... and just as recent as yesterday i dropped my iphone flat and screen on the floor from about 4 feet... i felt a tear coming down my eye. thank god nothing happened, not even a scratch.
akala, 19 Mar 2013dude!!!! i agree this i agree that , you are copying this n that ? wtf ?? basically you guys ... moreWow! the Galaxy S4 screen can be operated with gloved hands and also fingernails! I KNEW this feature would make it to the S4 as soon as the Lumia 920 was launched, jst as I was certain it would feature big.Little processor! I feel vindicated! Samsung r always "inspired" by either Nature or their rivals!
Anonymous, 18 Mar 2013i agree with you guys but i dont care cause they seem to be copying all the best features. and... moreThe way the phone sizes r gettng increased every year, we'll soon be practically carrying laptops in our pockets! I mean this is gettng seriously ridiculous - dnt these nitwit companies have any sense or sensibility abt comfort levels, these things r gettng too huge 2 carry arnd, much less make phone calls or hold it 2 ur ear! I jst saw a guy makin a call with his Note 2 the other day, seemed like he was holding a radio from the old days 2 his ear! Lol! I guess 1 of the main reasons the Iphone still sells well despite not having any spectacular specs is cos of it's relatively convenient form factor! When d heck r foldable phones gonna be mainstream, I guess by d time they do we'll be havin 10'' "phones" in our pockets! Increasing d screen size insanely seems 2 be d only "innovation" Samsung is capable of these days, but of course all the droid makers follow suit! I hear the Galaxy Note 3 will be 6.3''! Roflmao! Samsung had better provide wireless bone conduction tech 4 making/receiving calls without any headgear!
dude!!!! i agree this i agree that , you are copying this n that ? wtf ??
basically you guys are copying each other too over there..talk like a pro phone user but actually 0 in you brain.
why so serious.., 19 Mar 2013its a bad plastic cover behind.99% of iPhone users also have plastic cover behind. So, whats the point for motel or glass?
mehedi, 18 Mar 2013price is very high but good phoneits a bad plastic cover behind.

george85, 17 Mar 2013I still don't get it - people are willing to pay huge amount of money for these devices (with ... moreAh... another lost soul.
I do agree that smartphones in overall are really overpriced ATM, but they are still in their early evolution and that's why they are so expensive.
As goes for their functions for the buck, what do you think 90% of people do on their 700€ laptops and smartphones? Yes, you got it, same things! :D
But with a smartphone you can slide it into your pocket and always have it with you wherever you go and do the same thing as you would do on your laptop. Oh, and try fitting your laptop into your pocket! ;)
i agree with you guys but i dont care cause they seem to be copying all the best features. and thats what matters in the end what is a available to us. yes nokia are leaders in this department no doubt but ther ecosystem needs major update.

Air View is nothing but Knockoff of Air Play
Eye tracking is a 'App' can be found in google play
also to add here by that smart stay in s3 was a fetaure that was launched 2 months before by a pp deve;oper on the app store
pop up video was again not an innovation
if u talk about the new fatures on s4 look at other brands that had already came out with the same things a month or two nefore before
WAKE UP .................WAKE UP ..................WAKE UP ..............WAKE UP ............ AND STOP UR WHIT WHEN U DONT KNOW EVEN HALF ABOUT IT ...AGAIN WAKE UP
I love the design of the Nokia 920,but 599 euro??Nokia, you gonna have to drop your price or else........
For me the high prices of smartphones nowadays is something really stupid.
odosky, 18 Mar 2013Water resistance is not an invention, i heard of water resistance appliances since i was a kidhow about water resistance without the need to cover the phone holes like xperia Z
making a phone tougher and more resistant is always an inovation.
