all you haters out there just cant afford this phone. that's it! thats the bottom line. it aint about the features... blah blah blah! it's a luxury phone, anything luxurious, dont make sense! thats just the way it is. just like an LV bag, you can always buy a North Face... but it dont turn heads like an LV now, does it? if i had money to burn, i'll probably buy this phone. i bet you can travel halfway around the world and not find anybody with the same phone. unless you're in dubai, with them oil billionaires! ha!

People says "DON'T JUGDE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER" but for nokia 8 series we can say "JUDGE THE PHONE BY ITS COVER BECAUSE NO BRAIN INSIDE". I prefer my nokia E90, cool in the outside, smart in the inside, and for the money i spend for my E90, i get cool look and smart brain from this phone.

I always wanted to buy myself an 8800s series. The first had a lack of battery life, the Sirocco was not entirelly my taste, the Arte was way too expensive and now the Carbon...
I use to have the 8850, 8890, 8910, 8910i... 8910 was the best by far.
I do have an smartphone for working days, but during the weekend or vacation i only need a fone to recieved and made calls... do you recall that times, were we only look at battery life and Clear reception... I miss that days... Congratulations to all 8800 carbon owners...

Why are you people still making rubbish jundgements about this phone like 'its a status symbol' 'its to expensive'

This 8800 Arte Carbon is for Rich People who want STYLE with Good Telephony

il say it again, people with Money dont waste their lives on their phones features ......

so this 8800 Arte Carbon is Perfect for them ...its Expensive its made from EXPENSIVE Materials! and it has basic features and thats all......

thats what some people want

not everybody wants a Bricky N95 8GB or N82 have you seen them? their fit for nerds only

someone like an Enterpenaur would buy the 8800 Arte Carbon or a Succesful Businessman would buy the 8800 Arte Carbon ....its there kind of phone

seems many people envy with others who can buy this phone,,
if u say this phone price tags is too pricy don't buy it..
for others that want luxury phone i think the price is relatively cheap if we compare to vertu,,

so why bother saying it to expensive??
since nokia rises the price to makes it exclusive..
if the price is low
than it is not exclusive anymore..
start to think rational guys

I have been an 8800 owner since the original came out all those years ago. I purchased the 8800 arte sapphire for almost 1700 USD when it came out (felt like I got a heck of a good deal) and have had a string of bad luck with it. I think it's just a fluke though. Have been overall pleased with the rest of the line though.

I am looking forward to purchasing this "carbon" copy once it becomes available.

In answer to the ney-sayers commenting on this phone. True, the specs are not in any way impressive, however, I have other gadgets which take care of all my other needs besides calling. That's what digital cameras, IPods, E71s, etc. are for. This is a status symbol. No more, no less.

I will admit, I realize that the price is hefty, but for the admiration among my peers, the price tag is worth it. I figure if I have the money to spend, why not? It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for the ones who admire such uniqueness, such as myself, please don't rain on our parade.
