So if your brain only computes differences in specs and design and biuld mean nothing here's a few:
HTC One's market leading LCD panel has a ppi of 468,compared to the pentile amoled of the S4 of 441.
Sound for media,calls and reception is second to none on the HTC One.I happen to think call quality is pretty damn important when buy a phone!

If you were actually objective and knew any knowledge of tech,jellybean has sorted flagship phones and there is little difference.There is no app or game that is too powerful for either the Xperia Z,HTC One or S4.We've hit a technological plateau in this respect.Only design and ui and software features can show differences. I've owned every Galazy S series phone but they don't deserve my attention this year,HTC does...The dumb masses will get sucked in by the marketing and buy the SGS4 but tech-heads will go the cooler option and go with the little guy...

I don't see any reason as to why it shouldn't work here with a UK sim-card in it, but don't just take my word for it - ask around for other opinions.
