I think it's because of the recent 5.1.1 update .. phone charges but doesn't wake up ... tried repairing with PC companion but no luck .... I think sony intentionally gave a malicious update which bricked all old phones so ppl buy a new one !!!! no sony ... sure gonna buy one but not sony... not anymore ... xperia z still have enough power to compete against all the modern phones .. besides my phone looks like a new one as I used it carefully ... why do I need to buy a new one then??
Sony xperia z5 less than 6 months old. In the last 3 weeks it had frozen and rebooted twice and in the last week had lost 4 mins compared to pc/sat nav clock. Today when it had 80%+ of charge it vibrated for longer than normal and died. It was roasting hot, plugging it into various chargers did nothing, reset button did nothing, power and plus volume got three vibrations then nothing and it's been a paperweight since. Had I known about the chance of sudden death I would never have bought a Sony.
My xperia z3 died today, I think it overheated and the charge port is now knackered.... Luckily we have a magnetic charger as back up and it's charging again....
My Sony Xperia Z5 premium dual that I bought in January won't turn on. I have tried every tip I found online but no luck. Please what should I do? I have only been using the phone for four months now. Please help!!!!
After watching multiple reviews on YouTube, I opted for a Z3+. I purchased the phone @ $442 (in Kenya based on 102 exchange rate) on 24/02/2016 from a local store here and since then everything seemed to work fine. Xperia Updates, the Marshmallow OS, Frequently used Apps, New Apps... You name it.
Until after 39 Days, after 10am in the morning in the office and after using an app to scan a document (which I did hundreds of times before on the same phone). The phone just went DEAD. Power button, volume buttons.. Nothing worked! After pressing them multiple times for more than 2 minutes at a time on each interval. The damn thing didn't even Vibrate or show any sign of life. To fix the phone, whatever multiple blog sites said.. I did, whatever YouTube demonstrated to do.. including the tiny yellow switch in the SIM compartment, I did but to no improvement.
At the end, when I plugged the phone into a USB port of my PC, I got the message "USB Device has malfunctioned." So I couldn't use that Xperia Companion App to reset the entire OS and loose all my data which was referred to the "Last Option".
Pissed off that the phone was my ONLY daily driver, I had to return it for repair and had to retort to some backup Chinese backup which I had laying around. I'm told to wait for 1 week while it's undergoing repair but seriously even if I do get the same replacement or the phone back in a working condition, I am just going to resell it. SONY PHONES ARE CRAP!
I have a Sony Xperia Z and recently it's been crashing randomly, but mainly when I use Snapchat. Today it has crashed over 5 times, and keeps coming up with "Optimising application x of xxx" then continues to crash after its finished loading. Getting extremely frustrated with this now- can someone help me please? :(
My Z3 died like others here. I have put it to charge and I have tried on button with volume and phone vibrates 3 times the red light flashes. Then I have left it for charging. I will check after a while.
Nikkixxx, 19 Feb 2016My boyfriend has been using his Sony Xperia z3 for over a year now and yesterday it just sudde... moreMy z3 died just like everyone else. Tried on button with volume and phone vibrates 3 times the red light flashes twice then green then nothing. Tried to charge it overnight but same no response.
Finally done only thing possible and replaced battery and as soon as new battery was connected it charged fine with red light staying on before turning to green. Seems like the battery was so low that it could not recover itself. Unit was just over 2 years old and would have expected the battery to last a lot longer than that.
My phone had sudden death at 38% battery life.. I started to freak! I tried charging it with a few different chargers and no luck! This is what seemed to work.. I plugged it into the USB on my computer.. Waited a bit... held down the power button + volume up + volume down all at the same time for 6 seconds and then it vibrated and went into charge mode.. Never had to do this ever before. Electronics though... sometimes they fuck up its been a great phone for the past couple years.
Sony experia worst phone ever.
Problems from day 1. Expensive paper weight. Today just died. Tried everything, won't swith on. Hate it.
Useless. Sony u such.
Benarji chowdary, 02 Feb 2016My sony xeria Z is automatically turning Switchedoff even when it is 30%/ 40% / 50%.... And it... moreHi, did you get this problem resolved? I'm having the same issue with my Z2...
same thing here, just noticed today there Is a white led light flashing about every 7 seconds , I tried charging it but to no success also tried to connect it by usb to my computer , with no avail, it wont turn on I tried holding the power button for a few seconds to see no change in its condition, its seems to be asleep , it was working just fine in the morning and I knoticed a few times that the wifi would turn off by itself when battery level was more than full it would happen randomly , it was different than the low battery mode .
sure wish they could come up with a solution quick or give us a new product . I paid a lot of money for this phone and I'm not letting it die on me now

My Sony experia z3 also facing same issue , SUdden death and now not turning on ... Is there any workaround found ???
I bought my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact last June 2015, and last November 2015 it experienced sudden death. I had it fixed at the Sony Service Center. After a month from the repair, it happened again. It would just suddenly turn off and wouldn't charge. I had it fixed again and this happened for the third time already. Now, it won't turn on or charge again. I tried to hold the power and volume up button. Sometimes it would vibrate and sometimes not. Afterwards, I charged it but there's no light indicating it is charging. What to do? My phone has been going back to the service center three times already...is there something wrong with the unit itself or the system? I don't understand why it keeps on happening and the unit hasn't been with me for a year yet.
