> In reply to THE CHRONIC @ 2008-08-25 19:42 from myPB - click to readNokia are not the best. They may be the best selling, but your statement itself is proof enough that they're no longer top-dog. Certainly when it comes to innovation. I remember the days when Nokia were all about pushing boundaries. I was a Nokia user a while back and switched to SE. And recently they've become kinda stagnant as well. Much as I hate to say it, the market leaders in terms of innovation right now are prob'ly Samsung and LG. Which is a shame as I really don't like either of those manufacturers. Samsung are good enough phones, but it's the UI that I can't get along with - it's just so convoluted and long winded to get anywhere with it. As for LG's - I'll be honest, I can't really put my finger on what it is that I don't like. I'm not a huge fan of the aesthetics of them and something just FELLS wrong. Still, we can hope that this is just the calm before the storm and in a couple of months they'll announce something astounding. Ah well, it could be worse - we coulda bought the iPhone...

2) is brighter and less power hungry
3) is thinner and lighter
4) makes more pixel/inch possible
5) does not need backlight

> In reply to Zobi @ 2008-08-25 19:02 from Ma$n - click to readHaha, no dude, AMOLED isn't about resolution, it's the type of screen used, like TFT or Plasma etc. AMOLED is the advanced version of the OLED display, with a lot of OLED negatives filtered out. That's the reason why it says "exiting". :)

> In reply to Zobi @ 2008-08-25 19:02 from Ma$n - click to readAMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode;
basically it's just the way it's oriented in the back of the screen;
and OLED is apparently brighter and more energy efficient etc.

Hm, with the N85 getting an AMOLED screen, I hope the N96 will be getting one as well. A camera update would be nice too, lol. But I guess that won't happen, since the specifications have been announced months ago.... :(
