They are very great phones.
N79 looks like as if the successor of N73. Meanwhile N85 is the successor of N81.
I would like to buy either N79 or N85.
I hope Nokia would like to improve the quality for the next NSeries.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-29 09:16 from MSRn - click to readyes, due to poor sales (their growth is negative for the last two years), Ericsson will stop support it's mobile phone division and sell it's share to Sony,
so, in the near future, there will be no more Sony-Ericsson branded phones, just Sony.

as for Nokia, their biggest rival now is Samsung, who manage to delivers some great mobile phones.
and i think Nokia will never let it happens easily.

hehehehe, do u know nokia sold about 125million headsets for the first two quarter of 2008? sonyericson drop their sales from 24.9million to 24.4 as compare to two quarters of 2007..

and the totol sales of the two quarters of 2008 is 303million set
think about it, will anyone replace nokia on 2009? lets see[:

SE C905+ Samsung Innov8 + any Nokia Nseries + Nokia 5800 XpressMusic = LG KC910. ????

are you noob or what? LG is WEAK IN sound quality! and also samsung innov8 is using NOKIA symbian S60, each and any and every program can minimize. LG KC910 can? hahah -.-

i don't think N79 have same design with other
N85 got same design like other nseries but
Nokia not like other cheap brand, using same design ,same feature
at least they put a lot of new feature inside,
2.6"OLED screen is old feature?
fm-transmitter ?
n79 can change theme according to the colour of the back cover is old feature?

i think n-series much more better than JAVA PHONE

If you happen to own N95, N95 8G and N82, theres no need to upgrade from these latest phone that Nokia is coming up with cause these three could do these newbies can and more. The only worthy upgrade from Nokia is their TOUCH UI.

> In reply to musicphone/n82 @ 2008-08-31 11:19 from 4maX - click to readyea i agree but cause nowadays phones are also judged by their looks and everyones got their own taste for instance i bought a N95 8GB on specs and it never let me down i love it and now after the new nseries look i love the design and so i got a N78, if you read GSMarenas preview and review the guy gated it so much you could tell he would never consider the N78, they said its size is big, keyboard is not good and is bad looking, but i love its looks and size and have no probs with keyboard but thats just me, so i think that 5mp, wifi, gps, mass memory and great screens are like a new base line for phones, they make them in different sizes, shapes and form factors for the people, if you like dual slider you got a few choises like N95, N95 8GB, N96, N85 and if yours a candybar guy you got tons too, N73, N77, N78, N82, N79 and i'd say that a good and smart move.....keep chillin homies!!

Yup, I think the LG KC910 pretty covers all spec that the other brand offers. It's just that its not a smartphone like the SE C905. I'd say the LG KC910 is more tempting.

i cannot see any major differences between n79 and n85. their hardware platform and feature sets are completely identical. the n85 is like a n79 in dual slider form factor. in turn, the n79 is like a n85 in candybar form factor. n85 has a 2.6" amoled display, extra keys for multimedia and gaming controls, and usb charging. n79 has interchangeable xpresson covers. but both of them, n79 and n85, have the same feature sets: 5mp carl zeiss lens w/ af & dual led flash, vga 30fps video, hsdpa (n79 is dual band, n85 is triband), wifi w/ upnp, a-gps, s60 3rd fp2, ngage, fm transmitter, naviwheel, 3.5mm jack, tv-out, bluetooth w/ a2dp..
i, therefore, conclude that the gap between n79 and n85 is so small, if not there's nothing at all. unlike back in the n73-n93 days that the gap between those 2 phones are so huge. n79 can do virtually anything that n85 does. the buying decision will go this way: if i want a n85 in a more compact casing - candybar form factor, and more affordable, i'll choose the NOKIA N79. but if i want a larger screen, external hardware keys for music & gaming, and extra 8gb card in the box, i'll go for the more expensive NOKIA N85.
hats off to nokia for such a clever marketing strategy!!!

you know its cool we got lots of phones to chose from, cause man at the end of the day their just phones, when you get bored form one design you know the same thing everyday you sell it at a good price and buy some other model and it's gonna have all the old good and a few new things like fm transmitter and better keys and stuff!! keep chillin homies!!!!!!!
