Nokia is one month late in releasing this phone, Samsung innov8 is already out. In my opinion the N96 looks kind of wide, I'd prefer N85 over this phone any day.

errr it's a Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU, which is slightly more multi threading.... that mean program like msnlive and opera still runs well while listening to mp3 in the background, rather then old 333mhz that will choke when u open opera when runing mp3 in background... :) and 5mp is more then enough...

> In reply to mhgj @ 2008-09-03 18:36 from LEv% - click to readn96 is not supposed to compete w/ innov8, because in price and functionality, theyre of the different class. innov8 is the most expensive symbian smartphone to date, 50% more expensive than nokia's most expensive smartphone, the n96.

> In reply to nick @ 2008-09-03 20:04 from nxwQ - click to readvery few people can buy innov8, why? because its price is 50% higher than the already expensive. innov8 is a phone that a lot of people love to talk about, but very few people will buy. even if i had the money right now to buy innov8, i would not buy it.

> In reply to Sameer... @ 2008-09-03 21:08 from ut6H - click to readn96 is made not for n95 8gb users already. n96 is an alternative to n95 8gb, an improvement. its target market is people who never owned an n95, n95 8gb before. why nokia isnt creating a 8mp phone? because its too soon.
people nowadays as i observe are more fond of more megapixels in a camera phone. come on, image quality should come first before the megapixel count. you dont want to buy an 8mp cameraphone with worse image quality than a 5mp n82, right?

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-09-03 23:04 from SjuX - click to readits not a downgrade. n96 uses a different processor. its a nomadik stn8815 dual cpu manufactured by stmicroelectronics. the benefits of this processor are high sound quality, better video processing algorithm and lower battery consumption. its 950mah battery will last even longer than n95 and n82 because its processor consumes less power.

nokia is so damn slow. They should release an UPDATED american version of the N96. Ex. there should be an ATSC tv tuner, as DVB-H is not available in the USA.

> In reply to Dani @ 2008-09-03 22:28 from nERr - click to readN96 was first launched in India around 21st august.
Just when iphone was launched in india.
They have kept N96 price slightly lower than 16GB iphone 3G.
In india iphone 3G costs about 36,000 INR means around 830USD which is too much. N96 has been priced at 800USD
