talking about hardware, nokia has the best hardware, from screen to the design (much of polarity), from processors to dsp chips, everything is just right.
talking about software, can anything get better than s60?

samsungs s60 implementation is lame. you cant install the right software into their phones. nokia has the best s60 phones. everything is installable, from themes to applications to ngage games to drm media files. nokia s60 is the best.

I have to agree with GSM arena. This phone should have been released in june. I have a N95 8GB and see no reason to upgrade. Samsung may have come out with a 8 mp camera and all the goodies but having owned two samsung models in the past, reliability is always in question.

Because Nokia has the biggest portfolio of mobile/cell phones. They cater for everyone... They also have the perceived UI as the easiest to use from the S40 days.

I prefer Nokia to Samsung, mainly because you of the "service". Samsung can't match that...

Nokia updates firmwares frequently and you can do it yourself online which means bugs and features are quickly added without the hassle of taking it to a repair shop.

Then there are the Nokia exclusive services and utilities that only works on Nokia phones such as Maps, tracker, OVI, ngage etc. And any other services they may add in the future.

Samsung and other manufactures needs to catch up on exclusive services. It's not just about HARDWARE! Like Google where the services is exceptional Nokia is aiming this onto their phones. They see this as the future... Hardware will be important but services will play a bigger role!

Its either you go with N85 which is cheaper or the Samsung Innov8 which is "monstrous". The N96 is like the mid-sibling that you'll never going to notice.

good device bu there r 3 things that sould have been ipmroved : 1) they have downgraded(264mhz) instead of upgrading the cpu (compared to n95's 8gb 332mhz)
2) they have downgraded the capacity of the battery
3) they haven't put an 8 mpix camera

Nokia makes money at the low end because of its super-efficient manufacturing systems. They have invested hundreds of millions of dollars building distribution systems and networks of retailers in developing countries. They have reached places where mobile phone means Nokia. It also keeps costs and complexity under control by sharing components among devices and designing phones that have fewer parts than competing models. And then Nokia's formidable lineup of some 100 models is just one of many reasons why more than one out of every three handsets in the world aremade by them.

Also I have a mate who has dislexia and can't read, he only buys nokias cos they r easy to use. Nokia's made in Finland are made a little better than the ones made in china. I don't know why??????

why did nokia wait so late to release this phone? tried to wait but ended up buying the 16g apple iphone. can't even return it if I wanted to for the simple fact the n96 still won't be out, espically in the United States. This truly bites(like JAWS man!!!!)apple dose'nt even come close, but then again you really can't compare the two.
