I was one of those people that moaned about the Htc one being just about looks. so decided to go to my local phone shop and try it wasnt straped to a chain in the wall they just handed to me and let me have a play with it. my first thoughts were wow this is thin and wow it looks beautiful something that i have never said about a phone even though i had an iphone. the screen was amazing and the response time was very quick. I did have concerns about the battery as Htc has aways had awful battery issues. But i decided to go for it and surprise surprise the battery has been excellant. i cant complain i am a medium/heavy user and i have gotten a day out of easily.

The HTC One is already on sale in Singapore. I happened to explore with it and this is what I have to comment:
Likes: Looks elegant, slim and sleek. Screen is fantastic. Very attractive phone, definitely KO the iPhone 5.
Dislikes:Tiny notification light infront, hiding behind the speaker grill, they should have emulated the S3 notifciation light setup.
Back notification light is innovative and useful, first I have seen in a smartphone.
Camera performance is a let down. Picture has lots of noise and macro photo is terrible.

Overall a nice phone but I still prefers the AMOLED screen of the S3.

HTC One, I like the white one, due to the Build Material, Sound, Sense UI and Battery. However camera should be done little bit better than this.

Those guys who're sayin that what's wrong with the plastic(s4) certainly do not have a slight idea that s4 had an aluminum prototype first it looks so premium but was rejected as Samsung was unable to mass produce aluminum cases.
Plastic s4 was a liability not a choice as it it expected to sell millions.

> In reply to Dagiira @ 2013-04-15 21:35 from iEmr - click to readthe camera did not win at all, it was deemed to be far less superior on multiple tests, i think it actually won only once in certain camera conditions and that may have been low light, which is what it was supposed to be good at, letting more light in, and even then it was only marginal mate, the htc camera was beaten even by the iphone 5 on multiple tests also, speakers yes it did do better on sound output but really who the hell listens to a phone through the speakers, i always will connect to at least a mini portable speaker, regardless of quality a phone speaker regardless of the manufacturer is rubbish, so take the win, that to me says nothing

> In reply to Dagiira @ 2013-04-15 21:35 from iEmr - click to readNot at all.. s4 is not that good. it uses penthile structure. Speakers- HHT WON, camera in real life conditions- (where really almost nowhereis is perfect light) HTC WON, UI(arguable) but sense has become very clean and light. no expandable memory, only clear win for s4.

What's wrong with pentile structure? It's America VESA certified structure.

What's really matter most was how vibrant can the screen displaying a picture or video. For this alone, all types of LCD screen are dead, yes including HTC so-called SLCD3, it was just another IPS LCD screen. Even Samsung PLS screen are better than any IPS screen.

To make matter worst HTC also faking about the so-called 4MP UltraPixels camera sensor. It really put digital camera hobbyist hope for a miracle to drain.

If have 2000 bucks to spend on buying phones, i will definitely buy HTC One & SG4. Both are great flagship for their respective companies. However resources are scarce and more than 90% of smartphone user buy them for their utility including me, correct me if am wrong. If am buying a smartphone now i will go for SG4 not because its better than HTC One, but because it has more software features. While i like HTC One, the aluminum unibody and premium feel will not do anything for me (Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder). Beside I don't plan to use my expensive smartphone as a hammer neither will I throw it on floor like a football (Drop test stupid) . But I hope the HTC One sells very well and revive HTC. But i don't think only HTC One can do that, their midrange smartphones also have a very large role to play. Goodluck HTC and ONE!!!!!
