I was waiting for the famoust concept N98 touch screen iphone-like announced since last october 2007 with 7.2 mega pixels running over symbian s70 with windows vista interface but it has been bypassed by the 5800 xpress music, at first sight can say ideal for music but lacks in funtions, why 3.2 megapixels when other brands increased to 8mega pixels??? the good thing is that it has a 8gb micro sd card in the package but could have been better with a microdrive of 16gb+ memory card slot as it supposed to be the king of music phones to compete with iphone, anyway Nokia lacks in intelligence

Hi,everyone.....
Iam presently using e61i,
and expecting nokia's first touchphone.
There are many manufacturers with touchphones but are very expensive.
Sometime ago i wanted to buy an business phone, i looked for other manufacturers and saw they are beyond my budget, then nokia came along with e62,61,61i...................

have you guys already forgotten what company was the FIRST to introduce the concept of digital music format and digital music player? do you guys not remember what company was the first to REVOLUTIONIZE the concept of touch-based screen phones? they're not even a cellphone company. and what company owns the largest digital music store in the world that international music charts such as BILLBOARD & UK TOP 40 are based on? APPLE was the first to introduce and revolutionize all of these, and everyone just follows!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-09-25 17:16 from kH@$correction: Nokia N97 is NOT 8MP. it's a 7 megapixel camera phone not 8 megapixel. search the internet. nokia is already developing that device.

> In reply to [deleted post]i agree. even here in the philippines. the philippines is a poor country. many people are homeless and dying in hunger but when iphone was announced and got released in the first day, many people rushed in globe telecom business centers just to buy an apple iphone prepaid kit with a price of 44k pesos or 600 euros and on that first day it got sold out already. there are more people here using iphone than n95.

> In reply to SE + Nokia Fan @ 2008-09-25 17:35 from i}dRLike it or not, Apple has been very successful to make customers to spend their $ on their products, which recently no other mobile manufacturer has done.

SE may know how to make Walkmans, and even that I'm not sure if the sound quality is the BEST!? One thing for sure, it doesn't know how to make PHONES!

Before the iPhone was launched the RAZR was just as popular in the U.S. You saw them everywhere... And that was only a couple of years ago... Some still do have RAZR's. LOL

Their mobile/cell phone market is completely different and probably about few years behind the world. 3G is still not available in some parts of the states. Europe adopted this over a decade ago... I'm not surprised the U.S has the biggest iPhone user base. Ignorance is bliss... I suppose those who wants the nineties features but with a beautiful UI the iPhone will do.

Their market is very different. Most iPhone users still think $200/$300 is cheap for the iPhone with a lengthy and expensive 2 years contract... We would see this as extortion. Cost around $2000 for the length of the contract. Most high end phones in Europe is a lot cheaper. Most phones comes FREE with contract. Who they hell wants to be stuck on an expensive contract for 2 years? I change my phone every 6 months to a year for FREE.

When I visited NY and went to a few cellphone stores you really start to laugh. It's unbelievable the poor range of old phones they had on show. SE W800/W810 (US variant) lol

Only half decent phones on show were blackberry.

Dont be mistaken! it ain't the 1st touchscreen by nokia. only the first of the new (iphone created) touchscreen trend. 1st s60 Touch UI.

first offical public appearance is the announcement right?
So it wont be in stores in couple day rather couple month.
am i thinking right?
