What about the physical home button? Or touch ?
stock android is great, but basically all the features Samsung fanboys brag about all the time are gone... like:
touchwiz
Air gestures
Smart gestures: Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll
group play
s voice
s translator
WatchON
s health
I don't know... Is it really in Samsung's best interest to show the general public how much faster the phone is without TW? Or much storage space is actually available without all the bloat?
what about fm radio? will this version os sgs4 have fm radio actiavated?
Default/optimum/stock is always better and stable than customs so Google did a great job here. Wish the price tag would be between 600$-650$. That is a bit expensive and without contract, I doubt the sales would effect.
Great news .... but again Samsung :S ... At least give other manufactures a chance too or may be all. A Htc One with AOSP would have been great too.
AnonD-78939, 15 May 2013This will be a big hit among tech enthusiasts only if they sell in more than 4-5 countriesVerizon with their CDMA network is constantly or of the pure Google experience, this blows. In another note at $650 if is steep, but will sell.
Yeaaaa !
no disrepect to Samsung, but i think all carriers and shops should sell a stock android and branded version. so it gives people a choice.
should be the snapdragon one as it's released in the USA, plus it has LTE :P
cmiiw
thumbs down....sorry google...if u wanna treat it like a nexus...the price should be justified too.....
Happy with this. The updates will come much more faster, but I hope they release it for more countries in more number and do it with more manufacturers.
AnonD-49204, 15 May 2013Bloatware and gimmicks gone! Now this will be a interesting one. But exynos or snapdragon?... moreI thought its a pretty well established fact that there is no difference in user experience between the 2 processors. Considering that it has built in LTE bands for US carriers AT&T and T Mobile its practically guaranteed to be a Snapdragon.
AnonD-117148, 15 May 2013Will it recieve urgent updates Yes. Stock and version updates Nexus style direct from Google.
the first step of making updates directly from google avoiding product makers to manage the updates
This is the best decision that Samsung has made all year. No Touchwiz and bloat = win.
There are going to be some depressed early adopters out there.
Will it recieve urgent updates
Bloatware and gimmicks gone!
Now this will be a interesting one.
But exynos or snapdragon?
Yeah for the latter and nahhh for the former.
So how do the buttons work? GS4 has a physical home button, a options button and a back button. Vanilla android requires a recent apps button and menus are built into the interface.
