listen, who is against progress, against 8,10,15 mp camera on mobiles, can go out from this forum and enter at nokia 1208,for example. why you can't simple understand some simple marketing plans??? the number of pixels on a mobile is the most important fact now in selling a mobile. 80% of customers don't need wlan or touchscreen, they need only to not carry a photocamera and a mobile in two separate pokets. are you so stupid oe just west-europeans????

It's not just showoff with samsung 8mps anymore. By the way where did you get the battery info? Im assuming it to be minimum 1200 mAh, could be 1440mAh as omnia too, not sure. These are sufficient IMO.

Ummmm, The battery is not going to last, Theres no point in having an 8mp camera in a phone!! If you wanna take a High quality picture do it on a camera!! I think its ridiculous, the Only point in having one is to say, "Oh, I have an 8 mp cameraphone!!" WOW!

it's a middle-class 8 mp mobile, even it has 8mp. Touch screen isn't loved by all users. Personal i don't like touchscreens at all. If you want full option, take innov8,this model it's under innov8 in their range. so stop complaining about wi-fi. it doesn,t have stereo speakers too. so what?? it tave 8mp camera and wvga video

Its already been reviewed. PIXON is a series. So we will be seeing more of these next year. It has a LED flash. In many ways and situations a LED flash is a superior choice to a Xenon unit, especially when shooting from several meters away. On the other hand, Xenon flash modules fare much better when it comes to close-ups. So no issues here. In some cases it even takes more detailed and smoother shots than Innov8. Given it's price compared to innov8 it's said to be most affordable 8mp around. GPS is limited to geo-tagging only.

> In reply to Bryan @ 2008-09-26 05:05 from kVVVSamsung are the first to introduce camera phone with Xenon Flash, SCH-B600 (CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Germany). SCH-B600 also have 10 megapixel CCD camera and 3x Optical Zoom.
Samsung SGH-G800 and Symbian Smartphone SGH-G810 also have Xenon Flash and Optical Zoom.

I think Samsung want to compete LG KC910 Renoir with this model.
Samsung M8800 Pixon wins in screen(3.2"), video recording(WVGA 30fps) and UI(TouchWIZ).
LG KC910 Renoir wins in connectivity(WiFi), storage(8Gb internal memory), and sound(Dolby Mobile, but maybe Samsung M8800 Pixon also used DNSe 2.0 or Bang & Olufsen ICEPower Amplifier)
Also remember, Samsung still have another High End Multimedia Touchscreen phone.
Mahmood Kalantar, regional director of Symbian s60 in Asia Pasific, said that Samsung now working on a touchscreen Symbian OS.
Maybe this phone also have 8 megapixel camera to compete with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
Samsung now used very closed strategy with other brand. Remember after Nokia release N78 with Symbian 9.3 s60v3 fp2, Samsung also release SGH-L870 with the same OS. Samsung L870 also have same CPU with Nokia N96(Nomadics STn8815 by STMicroelectronics).

You only need wifi if you are a buissnes man or you live with the phone and nothing else, my phone should be small, good kamera and fun to have, i rarely use the internet on the phone i use the net everyday on my job, so i dont want to use my sparetime sitting looking on a phone, ok if you dont have a life i can see the point.
There are always problems witk Nokia phones, HTC are way behind, SE phones are ugly and stupid to use they are build for kids.
