Samsung Galaxy S4 Active to cost as much as a regular Galaxy S4 - read the full textSamsung announced the IP67-certified Galaxy S4 Active just two days ago and it's supposed to hit the US and Sweden in the summer. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is powered by the same Snapdragon 600 chipset as the vanilla Galaxy S4, but comes with an 8MP camera and a 5" 1080p TFT display. The rest...

NOTHING is perfect. However most Amoled screens suffer from neither of those and are just fabulous displays.

How much, if any, of the new gesture features or sensors will be practical or usable under water or in a wet zone? It seems that for this reason the Active version of the phone should cost considerably less than the standard version.

Better save the money and buy the Xperia Z. This phone sucks with such less specifications and such huge price.

> In reply to Indian @ 2013-06-08 09:08 from ut22 - click to read808 41MP actually "only" takes very good 5MP, so a good 8MP camera can be better than a 13MP camera!
Amoled is actually no good at all because they all have problems with "black clipping" in movies and they ALL have problems with "burn in"!
Active is looking a lot better than original S4!

My native reading of the source tells me that the quoted price is a speculation by a market analyst and not a hint from Samsung or it's partners. Furthermore, such speculations are often published to solicit opinions on pricing and help to position a given product on a given market.
My guess is that even partners do not know the price yet and it depends on a price curve of the original S4.

Actually id pay like $100 more for a device that is waterproof, even if the horsepower is sightly lower

I will go for this because, it does not have Amoled screen.

Amoled screen of Samsung is bad, because it makes you to believe that Yellow is White.

I hate and dont understand why millions of people like it.

> In reply to yan @ 2013-06-07 18:17 from j8wI - click to readI guess if I was caught out in the weather, pantless (no pockets, but somehow still having my phone), I'd just have to hunch forward and cradle the phone to my body whiles sprinting for the car or a building? ..honestly I'd probably do the exact same thing with the GalaxyActive just out of phone-protection reflex.
