> In reply to Dama @ 2013-07-13 22:52 from t1$G - click to readSamsung does have most of the best hardware yes. However to say Nokia is behind Samsung and especially Sony in mobile cameras is utterly ridiculous!

Nokia since PurView has been on top for a while now. However Samsung has always been their main top rival. In past years Samsung has even beaten them. Sony has been up there too, but not usually as good in all cases. Still among the top though.

Nokia is on top in mobile cam right now. Some of the upcoming Samsung cameras might change that, but for now it's Nokia. The Honami might make a change, but I doubt it.

this phone (or should i say camera?) offers nothing new.
nokia you are dying, switch to android while you still can.

i think it is bad for the following reasons:
- 40mp image sensor, that is just plain ridiculous (anyone who has a background on imaging technologies knows why) good real high def sensors are expensive as f*ck and are huge, but to the average consumer the more mp the better
- ball-bearings... in a phone, wow i must have that, i guess one could say, that is innovative, but not a step in the right direction
- windows. why windows? that is unpopular, no one wants windows on their phones, it is bad enough that we have that on pcs, do you want bluescreens and crashes all the time?
- in the presentation only the camera feature was presented, is this even a phone? can you make calls?
- bad move to compare it with the s4 and ip5, those are obviousy great phones, sold by the millions, and this one still has to prove its worth

As far as i know there was an older nokia phone with this high mp sensor, was that a success? i don't know, i have never seen one, no one i know has one, why make a new phone(or camera) just like that?

I think nokia should switch to andoid if he wants to survive, go with the flow not agains it. Just make a good andoid phone with decent specs good build quality, it is that simple. I would buy an android nokia phone. nokia still has a good reputation/trust (to a some degree prestige), windows was a bad decision, it is not helping nokia it is draging it down.

Why they don't just manufacture cameras and camcorders as they always focus on those things?
Aprt from that...same heavy brick and same design as the previous ones since N9.
..With a boring and gorrible OS inside.
This 1020 thing won't save Nokia from loosing ground to other manufacturers and loose a lot of money as every quarter.
They will sell around 1-2 millions of this for blind Nokia fans but that won't save them.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-07-11 17:57 from nyeZ - click to readI'm not going to get this nonsense any further because I explained to you why some internals are not from the future and you comeback saying, "yeah dude BUT the dual in this is old" need to take some math lessons(add to your precious android the cost for a free lifetime and OFFLINE navigation, one of the best office packages-some people actually use their phone other than games and wallpapers AND if you knew anything about photography you would realise that a sensor as big as 1020's is way more expensive than competition, even than compact - do you start feeling robbed already? because you should) and you need to understand that putting a snapdragon 800 on a phone is not innovation and is not what everybody else is offering so judgeing by your logic all the OEMs steal you since now you can find which phones with that inside?...other than that you are right

I would rather you wait for review, than posting here yapping out your head on something you have not touched, operated or used even for a minute. Don't be cave men yapping about how they hate the beach and the sea whereas they have not even gone 100 meters away from their territory.

Am not a Nokia smartphone fan. It is just irritating that some people are so noisy and pretend they know a lot - NOT!

Why is it so that so many negatives are being found about the 1020 by so many people. This is pure and pathbreaking technology in the area of imaging. The phone comes with a 2GB RAM, 1.5 Ghz dual core processor (enough for a windows phone, premium finish, full office support, superb exclusive Nokia applications. What does a Samsung offers you - cheap plastics, crappy cameras, a laggy operating system and lot of marketing gimmicks - air gesture etc.

Naysayers leave this post and Nokia, the company is better off than you.
