Oh! Fall of the most advanced mobile os. It was really wonderful using UIQ from so many years. S60 is nowhere compared to the UIQ.

Well, I saw this a loooong time ago. It just simply wasn't working and yet SE stuck with it for so damn long. Are you sure they actually hired the right people?
That said, the Symbian OS, though extremely popular, is not much of an improvement over the UIQ. It too has been somewhat dead in the water for a while. That's until the introduction of the touch version recently.
Again, that said, Nokia and Symbian is quite late to the game of touch interface. Samsung and LG have more or less a mature touch base OS that's easy to use. And need I mention Apple's?

HAHAHAHA Long Live WinMo!!!! wooohoooo!
Thats why I always end up selling my p800, p900, p910, and p990 a month after buying it cuz UIQ sucks! Going back to WinMo was a relief cuz its much more useful than UIQ.

at last..a good news. there wasn't no such reason to carry this unpopular user unfriendly OS so long. can you imagine how the sales would be if there was S60 in SE-K800/K850? we all know why people love s60...

Sony is leaving uiq3, but uiq3 phone already got the value for its money, not only that, a lot of modders are still doing what sony only wish they could have done to attract consumers. Its just a case of bad marketing. At any case, it just means that there would be no UIQ3 for sony anymore. but definitely not death to uiq3.
Windows Mobile . . . here we come.

Whereas it may be fun to slag off UIQ as much as possible, remember that lots of people have lost their jobs over this.

Even they turned to WM there is no light for them.
WM never give a great quality of camera or music, unlike symbian.
WM good for use as business but not good in term of entertainment, it can,t replace each other.
To someone who think this is the good move for SE, YOU ARE INCREDIBLE WORNG.
Today SE lack overload of entertainment features that came with smartphone.

SE made mistakes and now they blame the UIQ (and the operators) for their own failures.
still, canceling their UIQ phones would do no good. the facts show us that their market share keep going down and down, and in the near future there might be no more SE-branded phones.

SAD News for me because i was hardcore SE UIQ Fan
P800- Revolution in phones .. (all Nokia = 1 Software, Except Communicator)
P900- Major Improvement in Revolution
P910- Major Changes in Software
P990- Biggest Mistake by SE... but smaller than Nokia's as they have also shifted its S90 Communicator to S60.... like i said "all Nokia = 1 Software"
P1i- Best Business Phone .... Use it to Blv it (i have 2 P1i, just in case market dun provide me betta option .. so i can change my P1i with and only P1i)
guys SE not clearly market leaders in Mobile but they rule and iam sure that with UIQ declaring dead ... they have sum other plans ... maybe cuming up with different OS better than YUK WinMo and more Yukiest S60 (Amen)

With such incompetence and betrayal to it's loyal customers, no wonder SE's profit plumment, and the excuse given is that market didn't want smartphones.
They simply don't understand that smartphone users are demanding users, so if they chose to betray the early adopters of UIQ, they deserve the bad marketing result from it. Winning new customers takes 8 times resources than keeping loyal one .. they chose the first.

To those who thanks SE that it makes good device, I'm saying the device is good, but the implementation is bad.
To those who hates using their SE UIQ device, it's because you have not update to the latest o/s that fixes many initial bugs, and you have not go further hacking your phone to make it even better.
Those who have hacked the phone enjoys top music and call quality, better menu / interface, better camera setting and result.
This is something SE could do, but they simply refuse to do so.
Go search for it.

SE kills UIQ.
UIQ is the best platform today, but the inability of SE to deliver it well kills it. That statement above is simply ridiculous and strengthen believe that SE simply runs away from it's failure instead of standing up and fix it.
