I recently "Put to rest" the HTC Touch Pro that I purchased in early October, initially believing that a fresh interface, TouchFlo 3D, would be enough for me to jump onto the WinMo wagon again..... Big Mistake. Although the form-factor was wonderful, and the interface modern, it simply remains a mask before a slow and aging platform. The Xperia optional interface is one such scenario, where Sony Ericsson is performing triage on a phone that hasn't been officially released. Until Microsoft, or Symbian earnestly decide to craft and deliver a rock solid platform we'll have to settle on UI instead of rock-solid performance.

In my country (holland) the X1 is already available on a data plan. and I've seen a movie on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfvF6IGiQ_0 with the mobile shell working (starts at 1:20- showing the shell) it's pretty nice it made me fell in love with this phone for real but because of the ridicilous high price (and a fine working W910) I'm getting one in a few months when the price has been cut down, and that happens incredibly fast here in holland (for instance F480 is only €12,95,- a month on contract for two years.

they should make it available straight out of the box and not as a free download option! why make the consumer go through the trouble of downloading it and installing it themselves???
