6We've heard rumors of a phablet in the works from Nokia for a while now. Back in May we even saw a (blurry) glimpse of what appeared to be a large-screened Nokia device, expected to see the light of day as the Lumia 1030. This latest leak which supposedly comes from a factory floor in China...

> In reply to Rad-K @ 2013-07-25 20:53 from 0ZJS - click to readHTC has its own issues. Its has never been in the top five handset makers. On the contrary Nokia has been a market leader with a huge and loyal customer base.

First of all, Stephen Elop MUST be FIRED!!! Nokia tumbled from record sales to selling their head office in Finland and are now there on lease.. WHY? simply because they failed to give the people what the people want, rather they force feed the people what Mr Elop wants. Smart phones is the way forward and Android has it all. why is Samsung declearing Billions in a quarter?
No.1 GOOD PHONE BUILD- ppi,proccessor,battery life,degign,GPU, 2yrs warranty etc.
No.2 Android OS on 99.7% of their phones
No.3 Windows OS on 00.2% of their phones
No.4 other OS on 00.1% of their phones
Samsung diversified their products and by this they meet a wider demand. In February 2011, Elop officially announced the new strategy for Nokia, which included the discontinuation of both of their in-house mobile operating systems, shifting its smartphone strategy to Microsoft's Windows (where he was Microsoft's eighth largest shareholder0. The phase-out of Symbian was to be carried out during the following years, expecting it to be finalized by 2016, and plans for any MeeGo devices beyond the Nokia N9 were scrapped. The Nokia N9 was released during this transition, to wide acclaim. The first Nokia Windows Phone smartphones shipped in November 2011 in the form of a device whose design was made to be virtually identical to the N9, the Nokia Lumia 800.

Given the situation, and in the context of Motorola Mobility's purchase by Google on August 2011, rumors arose that Elop could be a trojan horse by Microsoft who seeked to lower Nokia's stock to make way for a cheap purchase by the software giant. When confronted with it, Elop denied such speculations.

In 2011, Elop announced 11,000 employees would have to be laid off as part of a plan to "restructure" their business. Then in June 2012, he announced that 10,000 more layoffs were in order, and several facilities would have to be closed as part of the budget cut.

> In reply to Alaine @ 2013-07-25 20:34 from t1$E - click to readit's about stereometry, larger screen, more estate for accomodating the inner parts behind it, so less bezel, but i'm afraid cause less bezel may bring more thickness

> In reply to hira @ 2013-07-25 20:25 from t1$E - click to readSorry, I have a Belle phone and I tried HTC Sense, the only similarity is the clock (which is just one of several clock widgets anyway). Also, Belle is the best looking OS ever (plus, fully customizable including countless icon sets), HTC Sense... maybe third. After MeeGo. Or fourth, after WP.
