What people are questioning is HTC inability to connect to the consumer and maintain loyalty. The market place is becoming saturated and the best way to compete is learn how to connect to the consumer instead of just simply dumping users after 12 to 16 months with now further software upgrades plus other gripes. After 16 months I feel I'm no longer important to HTC as a potential repeat customer so I switched camps.

I'm an owner of an htc one phone. HTC products are really good, the only problem is the prompt updates. it takes forever to receive updates with htc. if you can make great phones, why cant you provide your customers prompt updates. I think that will make HTC more enticing to the public

As previously mentioned I worked in the Orange phone shop. There are rules of thumb for the brand. It really all depends on the series. Now every company is doing mass production. and components are a common place for all. May only affect producers in the selective control of quality.
The consumer rights you have to exchange for an entirely new smartphone after three unsuccessful attempts to repair the site. If you're on the phone warranty.

Not keen on the S4 and I don't like the big button on the side of the Xperia Z, I really like the One but at this rate the running costs are cost prohibitive.
not marketing sucks, htc one billboards and htc ads is everywhere here in my country, no body want to buy it because its expensive for a non sdcard slot phone and smaller display and 4mp camera.
do you willing to pay for 700 dollars for a phone with 16gb, 4mp camera and smaller display than sgs4/xperia z?
only ios fans will, android user have alot other options.
It is widely known that the promotion and advertising of the lever trade. I do not necessarily choose what is better and what parts advertised :) This is the goal ads! :)

Currently using HTC One, coming from S3. And I'm loving every bit of the One. Who cares about the sales increase or decrease.. It's not like the money is going into our wallets. Imo the One although not perfect but overall, its better than anything currently out on the market.
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2013I fix HTC phones and I have not seen any issue with camera lens, maybe should take little more care I would take care if I actually used it, have a look at XDA Developers - 85+ pages of Lens issues must mean I was too rough when my phone was sat on my side board (I am still using my iPhone 5 as I haven't migrated to the One fully yet).
I'm not surprised, they suck when it comes to marketing, they should increase advertising and have more global releases, and stop pricing the phones to high!
They do have the best designs though.

HTC has a great quality, increased signal and almost perfect materials.
But they need a lots of marketing, there is almost no ads at all, they need to low prices (high in the sky) they need to learn about promotion. Thats the main problem with HTC.
Sincerely if they cut prices in the mid-high range and develop more new phones they will have a rise. I really don't care about no micro sd or non-removable battery. My One X has enough juice for 2 days and use solar-manual charger and many people don't care that but they need to attract new comers.
Besides that HTC is a great company and has my support.

Actually it doesn't surprise me that they are losing out. Their build quality is not that great and their customer care can learn a lot from Apple.
My newish (2 months) HTC One (used for all of about 90 minutes) had the lens break recently, with HTC wanting to charge me £85 to get it repaired I can tell you that I have no plans of EVER having another HTC handset (my first and last one, had hoped to be tempted away from my iPhone 5).
HTC deny any issues with the lens but 80+ pages on XDA must be wrong.
I for one won't be sad to see them go.
Sony is a perfect example of this is :)
From LG, Samsung or Sony, I can buy a TV or other household appliances because this is good and Mobile Phones? hmmm their debuts and race for customers with regular brands in the industry.

I do not understand, or so it is important to have the latest version of Android when it updates often users do not experience significant change? and often fast company releases another update to quickly correct deficiencies in the software released in a hurry.
Everyone has the right to choose. I have worked several years in the living room Orange mobile phones. I learned a lot of technicians and mobile experience. I had a Motorola Nokia later he again followed by Motorola. After motorola LG, Samsung, LG was the Sony Ericsson Xperia, HTC do it again after HTC and Motorola went back to HTC. Reason for the high quality of workmanship and performance. This is my personal opinion. Next my phone this will be HTC.
