Still waiting to get the update through pc companion in India. Got the album and walkman update.

I posted yesterday that I am still waiting for an update on my phone.
Just now I realized that (by looking at the photos posted) these updates are for models 6602 and 6503. Mine is 6603 (LTE version) and I do not think that there is an update for it yet.
najiy91, 01 Aug 2013no update for malaysia yet.Yes there is, I just updated mine yesterday. I'm from Sarawak.
i hooked my xperia zl up to the pc companion and it says its up to date. How do i get the new firmware update??
Valhyre, 01 Aug 2013Sounds good.
Too bad i live in Mexico and my ZL is on Telcel.
I'm gonna get this update arou... moreanother one...
let me paste what wast already been posted:
ok at first i laughed at your comment, but then i tho to be useful,
the best thing you can do is flash the generic android for your device, if you have a branded android be careful since it could void your warranty, however if you have a CLARO android, i strongly suggest you get rid of that "shit", claro fills their android with a lot of apps that keep connected and make your phone slow, draining your battery, i know few people who had issues with their phones and they had flashed generic android on them, claro responded to their issues, so there was no problem regarding a generic android on claro branded phone; i recommend the generic US android, then the Nordic one, since those 2 tend to be updated faster, but that's just me.
branded Latin android NEVER gets updated, specially from CLARO or movistar, so debrand your phone, "get rid of that shit" and install a useful android, you have no idea how many complains i have to deal with, everyday due to people who doesn't even know how to change a ringtone and use a galaxy S4, xperia Z or HTC one, so please do make good use of your amazing device, start by installing a decent software.
Anonymous, 01 Aug 2013Thanx for clarifying. Nice, you flashed it and then got official updates. Use flash tool, its simple, its like pc companion, lots of help online too, i was disappointed with Sony before as i used to be a htc one x user and that was an awesome phone. but this new update is brilliant
Anonymous, 01 Aug 2013Well, zed on the previous page is from manchester, he got a non-carrier version and he got the... moreGuys, one thing I didn't tell u is that on the 16th June I flashed the .307 update through flashtool cos I got sick of waiting for it as it was released middle of may, then I flashed the 4.2.2 HK version beginning of July then I stuck my phone in PC companion and weirdly it updated to the same firmware but probably the uk version and this new update came instantly, I recommend flashtool as its so easy to update, no root or boot loader unlock and my phones been updating through PC companion now
Alex, 01 Aug 2013just read that the galaxy s2 plus has 4.2.2.... what did I tell you.... I personally don't thi... moreWell, zed on the previous page is from manchester, he got a non-carrier version and he got the update, obviously he also got the previous updates then.
Are you guys buying grey market devices? As you mentioned, some Galaxy S2 didnt yet receive ICS, and some Note 2 are still on 4.1.1, some S3 on ICS. And guess what? They will stay like that, Samsung does not update grey market phones. If the serial isnt registered with Samsung in one region or the other then it doesnt have official warranty and shall not receive updates. Same with Sony i'm sure.
I find it unlikely that you have grey market phones, it must be some kind of glitch from Sony UK. The fact remains, some UK users got updates without having carrier sponsored phones, theres no need for a conspiration theory. The Nordic market is even smaller but sim free phones got updated all the way (thought carrier specific devices are not that common there but not that rare also)
just read that the galaxy s2 plus has 4.2.2.... what did I tell you.... I personally don't think the UK generic xperia z is getting this update.
Mohammed11, 01 Aug 2013A day longer? Can you prove it? Sony seems a bit careless about its loyal customers who we... moreprecisely my point, it has nothing to do with serial numbers, I just think that Sony would rather please the global providers and users that are using the branded phones, than cause disruption towards the provider's that don't want unbranded phones updated.... just look at this way.... how many people are complaining about it... all they need to do is switch to a branded phone and they'd get the update, but be bombarded with network bloatware.... it's 'pathetic' but it seems the logical conclusion.... how many people are on branded phones compared to people on SIM free or unbranded phones... branded outweighs the unbranded.... more money for the networks and in turn, more money for Sony....
thusi, 01 Aug 2013i have sony z c6603 LTE vertion.plz give the update for that vertion..we are waiting..I already got it for C6603 LTE. It's out. Keep checking in PC Companion.
Why not just used flash tool. ? Just download generic from others country from xda. Iam from malaysia but iam using generic firmware from belgium. And the firmware working flawless.
Hi...i'm from slovenia...i've fot the xperia z c6603 Lte version and have the 4.2.2 jelly bean upgrade... it cames with OTA!!! I have it for 2 weeks...but it's laggy...chrome beta is crushing sometimes, and then restart the phone. I've got the album and Walkman updated. It take a while to come the upgrade to your country and to your provider. Be patient. :-)
Finish update and some testing.
Album performance bug that came with the original 4.2.2 update seem to be gone, hard to say after so short time since it wasnt always there on my C6603, but Album is surely more speedy now.
Chrome performance, better on some sites that used to make my Z work hard, but also skipping frames now and then. I think thats good, since it makes it real world faster, not like on WP8 that always force you to wait for the painfully slow animations to finish to create an illusion of smoothness.
Camera normal light, its night here so only did indoor shots, using flash. No improvement.
Slightly Low light photo, indoor no flash, in my opinion clearly an improvement here when using superior auto, you see some noise when zoomed in but still looks better than with flash. Good actually, but this wasnt terrible before.
Low light photo, yeah i guess there is improvement but this will never be good, those who say Z Ultra dont need LED flash because it has RS sensor should go get their heads checked, because the flash is live or die even for low light capable phones like HTC One. With Z its possible to see something in very low light photos but it isnt useful. IMHO.
Screenshots, still working (in case you heard otherwise)
Im available for a few hours more if anyone has questions
Anonymous, 01 Aug 2013So you have to wait a day longer before you can update your Sony phone and becouse of that, yo... moreA day longer? Can you prove it?
Sony seems a bit careless about its loyal customers who were first to pre-order their flagship so it's unfair.
I'm not a fanboy, and there are some here, I don't represent a particular brand, I'm just after a good smartphone and I like the Xperia Z but if Sony are not going to look after some of their customers then their message would be clear, to disown a flagship would ruin their reputation.
I did say I THINK if you read it properly.
Wow if that is true then that just underlines my first point about being careless. I mean losing serial numbers?! This is laughable... Because 1) How?, 2) How does that stop them from rolling out updates?
angel boy, 01 Aug 2013hy guys I connected may xperia z to my PC. updates are avelible but its stuck when it say :pre... moreThis happened to me, its updating the update component of PC Companion and it kindof hangs, but eventually it will timeout and offer you a manual update of PC Companion. The installer download is like 48MB. Then restart your update process when the installer finishes.
Alternatively you can look for the file Sony_Ericsson_Update_Engine_Setup-188.8.131.52307151333.exe on Sony mobile site,i dont have the url, sorry.
