What a ripp off. What the hell are they thinking? Mid range with high end flagships price. And dont give me that bs that customization and fancy name x8 for dual core processor is worth my money. Steer clear from this one
I am a Motorola fan and this is disappointing. I am happy with my XT925 and my Google edition S4
x8 Chip is just a fancy name for Dual core processor, for fooling people.

Grandpa will enjoy one of this by Chrismas when they will start selling for pennies. Hello Moto No flagship phone no premium device?! What is wrong Moto?!

"The Motorola Moto X a will be available on the five largest carriers in the USA - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. It will cost $200 for the 16GB version and $250 for the 32GB units, both with a two-year contract"
:O
This was supposed to be the price with no contract. This makes it the most overpriced mid-end. And it was supposed to be a good deal...
honestly, this "moto x" is doomed to failure. A processor S4 Pro only two cores, less than 800 Snapdragon 2.3 GHz and 4 cores and with a considerably higher price. It's crazy to buy one of these "moto x" just because you can choose the colors, there is not much there. I mean we are just colors! If it was an option to choose the processor, screen size and resolution, along with the option to choose the colors. Then it would be more interesting.
A gorgeous mid range phone, I would say, n wif a very reasonable pricing, so it is not a high end device and thus it is obviously not gonna compete with any other android flagship. So ppl who accusing it not having lastest spec is really funny, tot I'm wonder why Motorola/Google didn't announce any high end devices but only few mid range spec phone. Perhaps, Google is going to proof the improved optimization of the newly announced Android 4.3 or even 5.0 in future which rumored can be running on a dual core only device without any issue.
It would blow HTC One and SGS4 months ago if Motorola simply chose 1080p SuperLCD and Snapdragon 600.

It DOES use last year's technology--the Snapdragon 600 is just an overclocked S4 Pro. On the other hand, there is NO other phone who SoC contains a contextual computing core and a voice core. I'm highly interested to see what they will do with these.
Of course, next year Samsung will include these features on the S5, and you'll no doubt again be praising them for their innovation.
Motorola said that Moto X will compete even with their Droids ... I mean come on!!! ... their droids are exclusive to Verizon ... what's the point ha?

This is exactly the contrary of what was expected. This phone was rumored and expected to be at more or less $350 WITHOUT contract. This price plus a 2 year contract means that the phone is $600+ without
STILL... it is a pretty decent device. Probably bests most of the smartphones out there.
