Oppo make high quality phones but not direct to Europe & america, they update software much quicker than others.

Hope this comes to the UK as this with a xenon flash & possibly a sony sensor this will be better than the Sony new camera phone?

shooting a picture need 5-10 seconds to load before you can see the real resolution picture.
no burst mode too.
you can't take picture when recording video and dont forget it has no flash light, recording video in the night is impossible.
i bought my N8 because i read alot of hype and great review from N8 user which is ended with throwing my money for useless phone.i regret every penny i spend for nokia N8

Oh, come on... The HTC One's camera doesn't even stand a chance before my almost 3 years old N8. Go here > , scale to 12MP (or any other value you want), and see the differences. HTC always had mediocre (at best) cameras, and saying that a HTC has the best camera it's like stating that an Opel/Vauxhall Insignia OPC/VXR is the fastest car. It may be that company's best, but it's nothnig compared to the Bugatti Veyron (808), Nissan GTR (1020), Ferarris, Lambos and many other cars.
You must be blind or working for HTC to say that One's camera is the best. :|

it is good to see that phone makers are now tackling the cameras on phones rather then just making more MP, i have a galaxy s4 and it is pretty darn good but it is a long way off nokia's newer models but that was to be expected, i hope they do some serious R&D for the potential next years models, HTC had a good idea but it has in all honesty stumbled, i think a 8 ultrapixel module would have produced much better image quality, but it seems to be the big N who are doing the work right now, well done

Compare it's 4mp to others from back when. It's also the first. There will be larger better ones to come yet. An 8mp or 12mp UP camera will be amazing. Especially in a Samsung, Nokia, or Sony cam.

When it comes to cameraphone no one can beat Nokia. No, no. Not even Samsung or Oppo. Back on topic. This is a good deal but the price ain't good for a brand that not many people are famliar with.

Yes! We need more phones with quality cameras! 12MP is plenty, hopefully in a 1/2.3" sensor or better in 1 /1.7" I rather have that than 20M 1.1um pixels

But yes i admit that if features from nokia like pureview, offline maps etc come to android, that would be the best smartphone.

> In reply to Ruzveh @ 2013-08-06 16:24 from 2@r3 - click to readNokia spends a LOT on R&D... 8 Billion USD in 2011 (ranked 7th on Forbes). Back in the N95 days, they sold more sensors than Canon (or Nikon). It's laughable that you think they don't develop anything themselves. Back in the Symbian days, they used their own chipsets (good thing they went with Qualcomm with this generation). The reason you haven't seen any other phones use their 41 megapixel sensor is because they've decided not to license out any of the tech (yet?).

nah, nokia developed pureview technology that produces lossless zoom and the ridiculous 41mp camera using Carl Zeiss lens. it took them 5 years to complete that.
they also got some cool hardware tech like clear black display, puremotionHD+. and the infamous offline nokia maps.
there's more actually...

and yes, they dont have their own hardware, but they are the one behind the instructions embedded in those hardwares.

pity, these features doesnt exist in android phones.. lol
that is why if nokia stepped into the android market. samsung would be dead...
nokia is giving them the upper hand using by using only WP8 (which is still on its premature stage).
