At that price I go for Xperia SP, better specs, better camera, better video, better battery life.

At last htc is learning something from mistakes. Now they have added compass to desire series.Compass was available only for the One series for quite sometime. The dimensions of desire 500 is too large for a 4.3 inch phone because of the more bezel area. htc should consider it too and make phones with less bezel area so the phone will become more compact.

> In reply to Anthony @ 2013-08-07 15:44 from wfxj - click to readNo, desire 500 is a low midrange phone. One s was at high midrange.the desire 500 specs are very much inferior to one s.So definitely the replacement for one s is actually one mini with specs almost similar.

This would be a perfect replacement for the look and feel of a One S. Thin bezel and slick. I just compared the look of the two. Nice, BUT, it would have been better if the CPU in the 500 was beefed up a tad more. Hmm, almost hit the mark with this but ill hold onto my One S for now.

Screen size is rather good, the resolution not good at all. I don't get why these companies slack off when it comes to resolution just because they call their phone mid-range. Come on, 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches and only (~217 ppi pixel density)..give me a break..I think I am going back to my flip phone :)

Another overpriced HTC product, it should be cheap because it's only 4GB.

anybody know which quad core s200 this phone use?
if it uses the A7 quad cores (which means Adreno 302 for the GPU) and the price is around the same level as Acer Liquid E2 then i'll have one
looks like a perfect starter Android phone

just checked the specs,
damn WVGA display, that sucks. i was expecting qHD at least

Wow, this is like the worst design HTC has come up with lately. And the specs aren't sweetening the deal either...

Beautiful, this is gonna be a beast if it's aimed at the mid-range. HTC and Nokia are more expensive, but you're paying for something that's been crafted with thoughtfulness and attention. I love Samsung but I've had the S1 and S2, am fed up of mass-produced plastic for now, bring on the next generation of HTC and to hell with the cost!
