What the hack with most people, I want this, I want that, the lens should be this or that, ....... if you want this or that as you want it to be then go and build your own smartphone or work as head of the project manager or etc.
What we can do is only choose from what is already/available on the market and Nokia 1020 is great phone because of the 41MP, without 41MP then it would be 920, Honami is a great phone with good camera but (could be a step below then 1020) but with an up to date spec and the all round spec are great too and that including the smartphone design and water proofing for the ease of mind.
The anticipation for this phone this time I feel could be greater then during the S4 released but the problem is I am hard press to find valid reasons to ditch my current phone.
Most likely the LED would be weak like the Acro S and the Xperia Go. In comparison with a phone like the S3 or S4 LED.
Lets just hope thats not the case and sony will make the LED Really bright.
Was hoping for the Xenon.
why is everyone ranting about the absence of a xenon flash? it just throws a harsh light from a tiny spark. can you count how many pro body full frame dslrs have inbuilt flash? none, cos everyone who's half a decent photographer will avoid a built-in flash at all costs. anyone who has half an idea about photography equipment will tell you a good lens comes first, the sensor a close 2nd. I'm not sure even if a built-in flash will make the list. stop talking like the fool who takes landscapes with his flash on because he thinks it can light up the whole planet.

But if you want a xenon flash and a 1/1.6 sensor you have to increase the thickness a lot, and sony won't do that. I have a nokia N8 which is about the same thickness that the 1020 is, i'm used to it, but most people don't. If you want the Z1 is because you want the highest specs on the market, with also water/dust proof, and a very good camera, not the best, but a good one
The images still have noise and little definition in the details.
Almost perfect. Maybe I'll wait for SXZ2 next year maybe it'll come with xenon but this I'll pass
Stop calling it a cameraphone. What's the use of it when it's dark and you want a beautiful picture? You can't have it just because there's no Xenon flash. The 1/2.3"sensor wouldn't come to play. I had high hopes for this phone but Sony isn't including Xenon flash. 1/2.3" sensor size is joke. If Nokia can fit 1/1.2" sensor size and Xenon flash? Why can't Sony? Once again, Sony has proven that they can't create a mind blowing phone. Don't think G lens are better than Carl Ziess one(best lens maker in the market). Nokia Lumia 1020, here i come.
But large sensors are not from 1/2.0? Excuse me if I'm wrong. Either way would have liked it better if it were at least 1/1.8 or 1/1.6 and dual LED. This camera is only slightly better than Sony has been releasing on their Smartphones and be very expensive for what it will offer.
Cat, 26 Aug 2013Camera will not be spectacular, it can't be from an 1/2.3" with 20MP (about 12MP too much... moreIt will be only merely better?
Higher resolution, bigger pixels + BIONZ it should be really good.
But ofcourse we have to wait.
Anonymous, 26 Aug 2013Its been 4 years, and still a concept? What the... :)Nokia's Pureview technology was five years in development before it materialized and it is still ahead of the competition even after one year since it's been released. All current waterproof phones are going for the IP55/57 certification. Nokia's nanotech phone coating is a totally different and unique one. So whenever it gets released will still make Nokia ahead of everyone else.

D.C.L., 26 Aug 2013Almost perfect but sadly no Xenon flash, I might as well wait for Lumia 1020!Good for you.
Give up all great phone hardware and features for nice camera.
