Ultrapixel is the term used for their camera technology. There is so such thing as 4 Ultrapixel. Don't be confused. I am HTC fan, but Ultrapixel is a joke, I hope HTC will use a bigger sensor - 1/2", and at least 8MP or 10MP to rival XZ1 and L1020.

I have had a Dell Streak, Samsung Galaxy S1, Motorola Atrix and an SGS3... guess what all those phone's had in common? A removable battery and an external SD card.

What else can I say about all those phone's vs the ONE? They were all LAGGY as shit and the ext SD only becomes a problem as it's a slow and inefficient data source and I never ONCE replaced the battery on any of the phone's. Get over it.

HTC never learns...

So, despite some qualities (design, sound) the phone comes with:
- a non removable battery,
- 16GB storage minimum (instead of 32GB)
- the usual HTC mediocre camera (the "Ultra Pixel" thing is a joke. Stop it)...
- and no stylus.

HTC will not have me back as customer.

Having a good quality cam infront is also equally important as the back. These days people tend to take more photos of their own infront of the camera which is the front camera. You can also have a quality conversation over hangouts or skype, OIS is also important here for the front cam. Imagine the world of things you can do with the front cam.. Surprisingly no manufacturer is thinking about it

There is a great many reviews regarding the camera. There is even really well done reviews regarding the galaxy, one, and xperia. Look at the reviews before you criticize the decision of a 4MP camera. There is a lot of benefit to 4MP cameras. Faster pictures, better low light, smaller file size. In todays world, who here using there phone to create large prints? and nobody zooms with a camera phone, since digital zoom has always been useless.

I am not sure if you have actually used the camera on the HTC One. I can only presume it is the same unit that is going to be in the HTC One Max as well.

I have a Developer Edition One as well as a GS4. The camera on the HTC is very good. Yes, I too wish it was a higher MP count, but looking at the vacation photos, night photo's and just the quick random pics I have taken, the HTC does an excellent job. A number of times it has out performed my brothers S4 in the same photo.

I am not trying to say it is perfect and always takes the best pics. It doesn't. Just trying to say don't get caught up just in the MP count as a determination of how good the camera actually is.

I would definitely try it out before you decide for sure....

I get inclined towards getting this phone because of the looks, then I think of the camera and I stop thinking of buying it.
HTC did everything right except the camera. I mean it wouldn't have hurt if they had put 8mp camera with "ultrapixels"..It would've only made it more desirable! HTC dude what were you guys thinking? At least put a bigger sensor in MAX so that people would actually go and pay for a complete package.

im a s3 owner and I love it. I watch loads of films on the ace screen. I cant do that from the cloud. 3g is sketchy and 4 g too rare. until htc fit either large stock memory or a micro sd card slot they are going to suffer lack of market share. It takes nothing to fit one so come on slip in a slot htc and ill buy you your next one.

It looks like a touch-sensitive optical trackpad below the camera lens.
