Where is Nokia now???
Yeah...
This was a brilliant move by microsoft, and also a crucial one, microsoft could not afford to lose nokia at this stage, because nokia is the only company that invested fully into the window phone platform, i read comments of other people and they are all doom and gloom , saying nokia should have gone with android, but nokia made the right choice, all the people complaining would have ended up buying samsung phones anyway,
nokia choose to define the smartphone market in their own way, and not just follow samsung, htc, lg, huawei, motorolla, and all the countless other android devices that have flooded the market.
another thing is that google owns almost all the mapping services, they have google maps and now they even own waze mapping services, people that rely on waze on ios better count their days because they are numbered. google runs a monopoly in the mapping services, hence another reason why acquiring nokia was a good move by microsoft, because they would now have control over here map services and wont be in a situation like apple, all in all i am glad microsoft owns nokia and not samsung or google
This is like the end of the world for me. I can't ever have a perfect phone with a perfect OS and the branding Nokia... /=

Good News. So long Shamesung and Crapple
nokia was doing just better with Nseries devices, i think stephen elop came in as a trojan!! i doubted when he said that nokia would have become an icarus if it had chosen android as its main oS. he wanted nokia ti choose windows for this deal only!!
You fooks thinks nokia is gone for good, but actually it was just given a new life. The company is just own by a bigger company, those people behind the camera development and other intelect will still be there, plus those arogant nokia ceo will be no longer in control. These should be a good news for nokia fans, their sinking boat with sunburn captain was saved by a bigger ship.
R.I.P.
Windows phone have destroyed Nokia
expected android from nokia..
Oncom, 03 Sep 2013Can we touch 1,000 comments mark..?LOL..see the nokia 808 blind test...
Microsoft will never gain a market share. They behave like a snail, no consumer focused, slow updating OS.
Lumia X is coming. Xbox handheld with 41MP camera and 6-inch screen, NVIDIA graphics, a phone, 6,000mah battery and only as thin as the 1020. How I wish there's a gadget that exist.
RIP Nokia
Its really good deal, its really threat for Samsung and Apple. Now windows os is gaining market share. This deal will helps windows os become No. 1.
Reallyy?
I have unearthed a statement from Nokia after the iPhone 4 death grip, this tells us a lot about Nokia's values, something we are gonna miss now.
"Antenna design is a complex subject and has been a core competence at Nokia for decades, across hundreds of phone models. Nokia was the pioneer in internal antennas; the Nokia 8810, launched in 1998, was the first commercial phone with this feature.
Nokia has invested thousands of man hours in studying human behavior, including how people hold their phones for calls, music playing, web browsing and so on. As you would expect from a company focused on connecting people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict."
Its no wonder Nokia has sold out on all its customers, no surprise too. They just have not focused enough on customer problems, issues, requirements, requests and build half cocked mobile / smartphones in last 4/5 years with operating systems that just dont work properly and limit the customer (like some other big corporate giants i know). Why is microsoft buying into a company that has no future (my opinion of course). If Microsoft were clever they would probably have bought Nokia for far less in the very near future with the rate of dissatisfied customers it has (again my opinion). WILL HAVE TO GIVE ME A FREE NOKIA PHONE AND TABLET(CONTRACT FREE / SIM ONLY) TO USE FOR A YEAR BEFORE I WOULD EVER CONSIDER GOING BACK TO NOKIA / MICROSOFT.
