Perfect day to buy apple stocks, nokia really made this very easy for apple.
No-one isnt going to buy microsoft phones, its going to flop like surface tablets.
Most people who comments here thinks they are businessmen. They easily criticize elop or ballmer. In my opinion this deal makes nokia & microsoft works faster in developing windows phone. Its for the good of both companies if its planned perfectly. Windows phone is a solid os. The only downside of it is some features that techie people dig about arent available yet but thru this merger it can push wp to a new heights. Expect a more innovative ways now that microsoft is directly involve in the hardware dev. Goodluck nokia & microsoft. A solid os and a premium device.

Heart Breaking !!!
Coz,I was thinking about buying nokia..........guess,I will buy Samsung now.....
That's cheaper than what Google paid for Motorola. No comment on the rest because I'd be banned if I said what I think.
Why should we be surprised. I don't know... This has been a plot from the moment that Stephen elop joined Microsoft. Microsoft was lagging light years in the mobile industry and needed to catch up to google and apple since the windows mobile performed so poorly. This is not the 1st time Microsoft would be killing another company for its benefit.. U guys know about nescape and how gates seized being ceo of Microsoft? The charges? And don't get it wrong... Soo this mole announces first that all devices are shit, sales go down. If the purpose of elop was to keep Nokia on the prime have you ever wondered why an ex employee of a company that he left would rush into partnering with his ex employers without 1st trying to utilise its large and extremely highly talented workforce? Moreover, lookat the n9, the phone built soo much steam amongst users of all platforms, beating interest records on this sight without any serious advertisement.. Is it not just odd that such a game changing device could be inhibited from being sold in all the major markets by the manufacturer? When the company is clearly not doing well and is in need of it? Id say its this that has contributed so much to the irrational bushing of devices by user which is just ridiculous all devices are good in their own means and suit different people but why soo much bushing? Anyway, I used to be a hardcore Nokia fun and I still believe that Nokia should always be given its respect cause almost everything you see today on your androids and iPhones was greatly influenced by Nokia, gsm, camera phones, wireless sharing u name it... But for me I can't accept this as it was totally plotted, micosoft just waited to make it seam legit but this is my opinion..
paco2x, 03 Sep 2013Just wait until Elop becomes CEO for Microsoft, with Ballmer, out, Elop could push MS mobile d... moreYou speculate a lot.
First of all,WP was never intended to regularly receive yy.xx update like that bloatware/spyware called android.
Exactly the same policy like Win7/8,just minor repairs.
Ballmer screw many things-true,but also he had the carriage to push many new things ahead(loving or hate him).
Yesterday become official the new timetable for the future OS"es from MS.Guess whats new from Ballmer?!?!
WP and RT will be unified in their next iteration. That will be his last ace from the sleeve.
this is what i am yelling for almost one year: microsoft's trojan horse named elop acts until the end. nokia like motorola is only a bunch of patents. goodbye nokia.
'Trojan Horse' Elop has finally got to do what he always intended, and sadly he will be richly paid for his duplicity. Sickening!
Well, it looks like for the first time in many years my next phone will NOT be a Nokia
still Android fanboys crying !!!!
No Nokia Android device ,
I want to Ask you All ! why Moto not success with Android ! Even in USA !!! Even Google bought it the not success ! even Samsung kicked Moto in the USA !
well done Microsoft & Nokia
All the best
Anonymous, 03 Sep 2013its over, im shoked!Sad indeed. Did not expect this to happen, especially when Nokia is improving its sales volumes.
For all you saying Nokia is dead, well it was already, at lest the Nokia we used to know.
And this move makes sense, under the Microsoft umberella "Nokia" can affoard more researchers and developers than they had lately.
So the remains of "Nokia", under microsoft has potential to reach higher grounds then Nokia on it's own.
So the Nokia that no longer is, is the same Nokia thas hasn't been for some years now.
Sure it's kinda sad news, but for the finns that has already lost so many jobs and taken a financial hit already due to nokias fall, this makes little difference.
And if the products keeps getting made, we will not be missing Nokia.
808 and 1020 are the most exciting things to have come out of nokia, for a very long time, and I'm sure that development will continue.
Before those, the last really great thing was the N95 (one of the first to put all current technology in to a single phone, before it was not given that you got both wifi and 3G, and probably not GPS, or anything decent for a camera), Before the N95 nokia had been struggeling for a sense of direction, doing a lot of weirdly designed phones to try to find some innovation. And not long after the N95, they found themself is a hard situation, having left touchscreens, some time before, they again had to experiment, before they finally realized they had to get back to touchscreen, even though technology had not matured since they last did them (and immature technology was the stated reason for them to abandon touchscreens).
Both before and after the N95, Nokia was mostly sailing on old merits. They didn't do the products that deserved the attention, really. (the N900 was a nische product with unfinnished OS, the N9 had nice design but the OS in some ways felt like moving backwards and really wasnt ready for commercial succes, the 808 was amazing but way to thick for commercial success, and really, the 1020 is still too much of a nische product for the general public, although a great product for us that could pick a slightly more bulky and less featurespeced phone to get better imaging)
And MeeGo wasnt the simple answer to save Nokia, it didnt get the traction it needed. What Nokia needed at that time was the next big OS, not the next big phone OS. Cause MeeGo's strength was in the cross platform potential, but Nokia and Intel didnt manage to get enough on board. They would have needed hords of developers and other brands to join with planned products and not just saying they were interested to see where it was going.
In the direction things were heading, Nokia and Intel would not gain enough traction to get in to the eco-system race, and although you dont need millions of apps to fit the general publics needs, there are some you do need, and you need developers in each contry on board developing apps for those markets, like internet banking, public transport services and so on.
Gabrielitososa, 03 Sep 2013Do people not understand that Nokia does not use Android because Google prevented him? This ha... moreI don't know where you get your facts. Not a single word is true in your statement. Google would be very happy to put its OS on Nokia devices also, the reason is simpler even then you - money ...
That's the worst event in the history of Nokia and it's death statement.. Nokia devices will start hanging and crashing..
rest in peace nokia you were the best i still don't understand how you end up like that
Cool! It will help the brand regain its lost #1 spot. Let's go nokia.
