> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-13 07:44 from w0WR - click to readI agree. The red/maroon/whatever shade could have been substituted with some other earthy/softer/less fancy colour, given that the E-series are business-phones, for serious mobile users for whom it is more of a productivity-enhancing utility than a lifestyle gadget.

E71 and E63 have a different target market.
If they make the E63 with GPS, 3.5G (HSDPA) and 3MP, that would be E71 and there's no point in making it.
This is called a business strategy. And I believe nokia really expert in this.
Bad business strategy:
lame brand/model make a upper model.
why it's bad: people will be doubt to buy it.
Good business strategy:
good brand/model make a lower model
why it's good:
1. people who droll for the upper model (i.e. E71) and have a lower budget, will surely buy.
2. In some 3rd country, when you see your bos using E71 and you can't afford it, you could buy the E63, and fell good about it.
3. and so on.....

No stainless, steel... no HSDPA... no GPS...
What's the point???
Only upside I see is the 3.5mm audio jack.
By the time this is released, E71 prices would have gone some.
Boo Nokia!

Hi,
This phone is just as great as E61i and E70. But, the most important thing is: The Price is right.
With a price around US$250, this about the same price as E51, yet it has a great keyboard. It will surely be the choice of many high school & university student (at least in asia, where we loved to SMS), and a low-mid level company employee.
I bet this phone will be a blue bery killer. and will top in the most wanted phone in the comming month.
good job nokia
(note: good job for pricing strategy, not for the device).

The plastic body would be cheap. How can you use a business phone with such cheap plastic body and moreover the camera quality would be bad.Colors are also very ugly for a business phone.Nokia could have done better

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-13 01:41 from Er2M - click to readWell said. As I mentioned in my previous post, everything's absolutely crazy out here - cars, pubs, entertainment - you name it. Women are plentiful out here actually. There are lots of European, east Asian, Iranian bachelorettes ripe for plucking.
To tell you the truth, I just bought the Xperia in silver to flaunt it but to my surprise, there are guys out here who have already put the Xperia up for sale. Funny but true.

World Crisis? Under what rock do you live in? Got any access to the current news, DHL, GM need I mention more. Believe me spending between US$ 400 to US$ 600 on a phone now a days is not feasible. I think Nokia is going to set a new trend in economy smart phones with this one.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-12 16:43 from uBZ7 - click to readI've to Dubai, and I also lived in US. Dubai makes US like a 3rd world country like 6 lanes highway with (minimum) speed of 120mph. (not kph!), a place where more people fly business class than economy...
Surprisingly, I found most things there relatively cheap! As I my luggage was delayed due to transit, I bought an electric shaver which proved to be cheaper than Hong Kong...one of the city in the world known for having good prices on many goods.
Maybe due to the country is tax-free...meaning even most citizens don't need to pay tax!
About the only missing is women, which I don't think they're being respected as they should be. Also working on Sundays and having Fridays off still sound a bit odd to me.
Back to phones, when I was there in 2001, even a Customer Service rep was able to afford a USD$400 (back then) SE T610. I was in the middle of a desert with full bars reception where absolutely nothing but sand in sight.
So I don't really see any reason why the almighty brand should even offer E63 in UAE, where most probably can afford 88xx or "plenty" of Vertu...

Salaries here are rising faster than anywhere else, although things like housing have become a bit dearer.
