This is surprising; I live in the UAE and have never seen a Lumia device.

phones.
Articles about windows phone selling well are lies
and should be removed.
People select Samsung, sales are number 1.

AnonD-167223, 15 Sep 20130.5???Wrong!!!!nokia is has SECOND highest market share of mobile market in india.....i dont know in terms of all mobile phones but in smartphone categories micromax is 2nd in india after samsung :(
Here in the Middle East the prices of the phone are reaching the skies. The iPhone here is for 2499 SR in dollars it is 999.99$ which is only the basic model.
I don't know how they clam this, here in Saudi Arabia you can hardly see any one carring an windows phone but you will quit see people with an android phone. The word about iPhone is true it's shares in the market have quit decreased.
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2013Turkey part of the 'Middle East' and Egypt not? That just doesn't make sense! Egypt has to be ... moreEgypt is part of Africa, look at the world map.
Egypt is geographically in Africa and Turkey is Asia Minor and Southeastern Europe. Still IDC's definition doesn't make sense for evaluating this market. It's also not in line with what countries people generally consider being part of the region:

AnonD-78963, 14 Sep 2013we All knows that Samsung don't want wp8 success , because that the never make low end device ... moreNokia has launched the Lumia 625 which has pretty much the same specs that you're talking about

Turkey part of the 'Middle East' and Egypt not? That just doesn't make sense! Egypt has to be on it since it's 100% Middle Eastern. Turkey is mostly European.
i see that nokia is coming back to the market with the new and better WP8 , me for example was number one hater for nokia never bought a nokia phone , i had many android devices but in the end i ended up buying nokia 520 with WP8 is very nice phone nokia changed and i think eventually every one will feel that they changed to the better . after they get sick of IOS and andorid not because they're not good OS but because they're too mainstream .
In Iran Android is in First place, feature phones are in second place, iOS is in third and so on...
In brands : 1-Samsung 2-Sony 3-hTC 4-Apple 5-LG 6-Nokia 7-GLX (Iranian-made mobile phone) and so on...
As an iPhone user I'm not surprised. China is a tough market. They've always loved Nokia.
bil, 14 Sep 2013im not an android or ios fanboy but all i can see here r comments which seem to b comming from... moreis that so?
we All knows that Samsung don't want wp8 success , because that the never make low end device like Nokia lumia 520/521
Nokia your market share in India is 0.5%100 , it's can be better if you make device
screen 4.5 inch LCD
1gb ram
5mp camera & 1.2 front camera
no need purview camera & touch purview
Why not include Egypt? Statistics would definitely change alot if Egypt was included, noting that Nokia would probably still lead the market thanks to much lesser prices and better publicity especially in the feature-phones area... I'm an HTC fan and it's really too expensive for average users to purchase HTC, Apple or Blackberry smartphones. Samsung has much better pricing policies down here though...
To get a better idea, the HTC One (32GB white version) is still sold for 6000 EGP (around 870 USD or 660 EUR!!!!!!!!!). The Glamour Red One is 6300 EGP as well. Samsung's S4, which arrived enough later, costs 4800 EGP (1500 EGP less than the Red One).
Really pathetic eh?!
im not an android or ios fanboy but all i can see here r comments which seem to b comming from people who probably r jealous, absent minded, or cannot afford higher end android or ios. i have used all platfrms. wp doesnt seem interesting from android point of view or even from an ios user,s point. agreed wp is non laggy but u shud accept that its still a long way off..... and its DULL.60%is pretty much still isnt. lets hope wp doesnt succumb under pressure.i have also used old wp versions right from 6 to 6.5. so i know what im talking.dont jump higher be rooted and hope this platform suceeds ss well.
