taking AAPL approach? upgrade the model instead of a new design? it only works for a period of time, not forever
now they have HTC ONE, ONE mini, ONE max... and now ONE 2nd generation...then ONE mini 2rd generation....

Iam not a programmer or developer but have been using cell / mobile phones in the uk since 1988, first phone Novatel 4400 on cellnet, yes, old school.
also used to unlock phones and have owned many aswell
Nokia, Panasonic, Motorola, Nec, Samsung, Siemens, Palm, Novatel and Iam sure there are others
I also used to unlock phones back in the day, mainly Nokia, 8850, 3310, 8210, 7110 etc.
so have used and unlocked many phones.
But in the end its just my opinion, from an experienced cell / mobile phone user.

What is the point ? I need a new phone now, seem like been waiting for ever for Htc One Max but cant wait much longer. Htc seem to come up with the preliminary details but take for ever to announce and release their phones. And the preliminary details such as the Htc One Max are not as good as most people would want.
Htc please please read this.
we, the phone users, want:- 5 inch + Gorgeous display in the same uni-body
32 / 64Gb internal memory
2 / 3 Gb RaM
big, big battery or slightly smaller one with a
removable battery as compensation
SD card slot
Hmmmm what else:- Quad Core 800!!!! you dumb a$$ with the option to
install custom roms straight out of the box.
what is wrong with mobile phone manufacturers, all the ideas are out there but it seems they don't want to take the risk of producing a phone that most people want.
Can someone program an emulator rom so ios7 and itunes can run on android so you could have the best of both worlds. mmmm think of it, ios on a Htc one or sammy s4 or note 3, or android on iphone 5s or ipad 4 mmmmm
sorry for the rant but, phones manufactures, nice designs, shame about not listening to the phone users.

Ditch the UltraPixel camera and go for a 13 MP snapper like Galaxy S 4 and G 2 sport. Put a effing microSD slot and a beefier battery and the phone will sell like hot cakes considering the rest of the phone remains true to the original One.

HTC needs to work on an entirely new phone already with everything better and improved and stop doing the same thing Samsung is doing in putting out multiple variants of the same phone. That's not gonna work for you to boost your sales, HTC.
