sounds about right for samsung, if there is a cheap shoddy way of making more profit and piss folk off as well, its a race who does it first piss poor apple or shoddy samsung.
you watch, the prices for proper true international samsung prices will now go up.
glad i have no intention of ever giving samsung any of mine or anybody else's money for any product, ever..
samsung, the new toshiba.
This only affects people who want to import models from outside their home region without using a SIM card for that region first. That basically means poeple who want to purchase grey imports. Considering that it is quite possible for someone to thus import a model that won't actually work in their home country this is to prevent people doing stupid things and then tryong to claim warraty repairs and such like. The vast majority of people will not be affected by this. Why would the vast majoity of users need to purchase a phone from, say Australia, for use in the USA without placing a SIM card for Australia in it first?
Definitely the wrong direction I feel. Already scared me off. To think I came so close to buying the mini. I just don't want to risk a hassle.
Sayed Ejaz, 27 Sep 2013galvin look at gsmarena updated this post. what i said is 100% accurate.. :D now can you... morethis news been going around since yesterday and Samsung did not say anything about it until today gsmarena is late about this news Sammy was probably thinking of what to say what's the point of doing this in the first place ask that question
Yup sounds all a bit to hard. If in doubt, don't they say, so I wont be buying. Don't want to chance any possible hassles. Life's to short for that.
I'm confused now. Why use the word 'locked' then if it's not?Gsmarena, please clclarify further.
well bye bye Samsung, It has been great so far (S2, S3, S4, Galaxy Tab 10.1) but my next device will have another brand on it. You have betrayed the values that we were sharing. (PS: remember Nokia....)

what i said is 100% accurate.. :D
now can you... moreIt's not power but it's actually due to the result of being heavily criticized worldwide. Google this news and read the opinions of the disappointed fans. It's a thing every manufacturer do, its not some power or quickness. It's a strategy to end the false rumors. You need to learn about marketing, sir.
Anyways, fair enough. My next device is Note III and I was heavily disappointed from this news. Now it's cleared up, I guess there is no point in arguing anymore. Peace.
what fu... is it ?!
When I am traveling I always bay prepayd local cards for internet access, now it will be not possible ...
ok, maybe I need look for future on Sony devices.
Even american iphones work in other countries if the carrier unlocks them due to contract rules, samsung has no good reason to do this and there should be less versions of the same device, people do not live in cages and they do internet purchases
Sayed Ejaz, 27 Sep 2013Galvin, Just a offtopic..where you are fromFrankly speaking, I prefer being a hidden identity. I am at my home which is not in Europe but I'll return to Europe on 13th of Oct for studies...

While Samsung’s wordings aren’t ver... moreCan say stupid action from Samsung.
-most of people such as engineer, service, sell, marketing, manager... travel. What happen if they are from Euro to Asia, and want to use the local Sim (cost reason example)? Most of tourist people also use local Sim because cost reason.
-look like Samsung think they are the king now. This policy shall kill a lot of future customer, special with travel people. SAM want to die faster than Nokia.
-while Apple apply the WorldWide warranty now, Samsung try to limit their user region. Really funny here.

now can you believe samsung ?
Samsung made official statement. .power of the samsung just with in hours officialy replied :D
This is exactly why I will never own apple devices. If samsung indeed sim lock it then I will most certainly upgrade with HTC or LG
Sayed Ejaz, 27 Sep 2013Gelvin I can understand you ..
You saying maybe samsung will be like today nokia in future.... moreI have no believe overall. I was just stating "what-could-happen" and as being a student of Economics, I can clearly see when there is a rise, there is a fall. A company always face recession, recovery and prosperity. It's just the way you are understanding my statement which is in-fact the contrary.
"All I was saying is that wait-and-see and stop assuming what the future is" And those were just examples which I have given and I was also assuming you would have understand it as an example but....
