It's the arrogance that comes together with a success, we have 5 Samsung devices at our home, will most certainly be the last ones.

On the other hand, right now, I will pay around 850$ for an unlocked Note III + 50$ shipping charges + tax and other nonrefundable cash and then when I finally get it in my hands, I will found out I just wasted almost a 1000 bucks for no reason? Seems a big failure and a desperate attempt to limit buyers to only buy those S4s which are available in their region indirectly making an unlocked phone locked.... Nice strategy to earn Sammy...
None of the brand won't even follow this because they aren't as much successful as Samsung and if they do it, they will lose their customers and it will be a big loss but if Samsung just lose some of it's customers, it won't be a big loss because Samsung already got millions of customers which I am assuming won't be with Samsung due to these kind of strategies. Samsung is becoming a greedy manufacturer slowly.
Instead, buy a Sony or Nokia or LG or HTC...
very bad idea.if European people travel to other counter the phone is no working even roaming
wht is that bullshit

So I was thinking to buy a Note III at some later time and I will probably ship it due to "Exynons" Note III available here(which is inferior to Snapdragon) and I will end up is wasting my money? Cool story Samsung. Tell me more about it.
Not quite a deal? The end user better be able to unlock it. Otherwise it will defeat the purpose of me and others like me who buy an unlocked phone. The purpose is being able to use the phone ANYWHERE IN THE BLOODY WORLD under any SIM carrier. To be honest, I don't care much about the warranty.
What about travellers like me? Am I expected to buy a phone at every country I visit?
I'm sure Samsung wouldn't pay my Global roaming charges.
Laters Samsung, sick of your shit. Hello Sony!
Ahahah, samsung's success is getting into their. I was going to get a samsung phone but with this I'd rather get another android.
Samsung in long run will suffer a lot with such policy. There is nothing special in samsung phones other than superamoled screens.
To have different prices policy for every continent. Which mean cheaper in US, expensive in Europe...
77 lub, 27 Sep 2013so if I got device from Europe, specified for Europe.. and then traveling to Asia.. I cant mak... moreu can still make call, by paying expensive roaming fees, cos u cannot use local SIM to call
Does anyone know if rooting will solve this problem? Because it's a big problem for travelers such as myself.
Man! First Samsung's region-locking their Android phones. What's next for Samsung doing this? Region-lock their future Windows Phone models?
If there's news on either WP Central or GSMArena about this region-lock spreading to Samsung's future WP models then whether Android or WP, I'm not considering a Samsung phone anymore.
Shame on you sammy! Consumers are really the ones buying and using your products. Not big companies and mobile carriers.
I'm often traveling between the US and Europe, and use a different SIM card for each. I was set on buying the S4 mini in the next few months. There goes that idea.
Samsung, you just gave me reason to give my money to a competitor. Fail.
Typical. Their success is getting to their head just like microsoft. I hope they will remember that once you are at the top there is no direction left to go except down. Silly decisions like these can get you overthrown like a heartbeat.
