The problem is HTC manufacturing great phones. But they don't know how to promote them. Their marketing is extremely poor. On the other hand Lenovo has strong market share but it's most popular in China. Not major part of the world. Lenovo categorise as the low quality phones. I don't think it's a wise idea that HTC selling their business to Lenovo. Most people don't know what is HTC. But most people who using HTC phones are extremely satisfied than the people who using Samsung phones. And HTC phones are quite expensive, it's better if they implementing a moderate price strategy, then it will able attract more customers at the same time they need a good marketing campaign for promote their phones.

A marriage of the two could work. I love both HTC phones and Lenovos upper end think pad products. The lenovo phones may have ok specs but unlike the laptops, the phones don't have smart stylish designs. So just perhaps the two fused could compliment each other. Suggestion would be to keep HTC as a brand name. Ps, the One S is a sexy slim sharp device. The SV that followed not so much. Im just saying that HTC have a nice design here and there, same with 8x but thats WP. Now .. .. if the quality and looks of Lenovo think pad team fused with HTC something interesting might come out of it. As much as i am proud of Lenovo and swear by there business laptops, there phones in my view look a bit ordinary..

Well, most thing I love about my lenovo phone k900 and tablet A1209 is their price (bought in China then rooted so Google Play can work). Both still work nice for a three months phone and one year tablet, and I actually think to move to the more expensive Yoga line. As for HTC, their latest gadget I touched is a windows 6.0 - stylus back where I start university (2009)

Good riddance!

Now Samsung is also locking down their phones, with secure bootloaders and knox.Hope Android users turn their back on companies that act like Apple. Restrictions cripple Android's free spirit.

Would like to see Samsung next on the list.

sent from my (last) Samsung S4.

HTC being taken over by a company that isn't full of anti-SD Card idiots could be the best thing that ever happened to them. There is someone very dangerous in the company who is making decisions to not include SD cards, and costing his company untold amounts of money by forcing people to go elsewhere for quality phones.

If they could just eliminate that guy and put someone intelligent in his place, they could turn things around. And Lenovo definitely doesn't fuck around when it comes to SD cards, so really, I'd love for this to happen, and for them to immediately fire the piece of shit who decided the One shouldn't have an SD card (but China and Japan get it, just not US. That's BULLSHIT).

First it was Nokia, then BlackBerry. Now HTC...this is not good.

I don't want to see a Samsung & Apple market only.

HTC authorize dealer SIS in Malaysia very dishonest. I am a HTC supporter all this while but after my HTC Butterfly warranty void by SIS, I change to support Samsung. Good luck to Lenovo who going to take over the dishonest HTC.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-10-09 23:58 from P546 - click to readyou are a joke. take htc one/one mini/8x/8s and listen a song. after, listen the same song with the same headphones on any ipad/iphone/sony xperia/samsung you want and you will hear what is the difference is...beats audio enhancement sounds great on the last htc devices: 8x,8s,butterfly,one,one mini, new desire series because they already have a small signal booster wich raises the voltage with 8v for headphones output. all these new models have dedicated headphones amplifiers and they all sound as good as my old nokia n91 with harman-kardon amplifier inside. so do not talk stupid things. a good preamplifier wich is in fact the sound processor/equalizer is zerrro if is not sustained by a powerful amplifier in the end. all smartphones have superb preamplifiers and sound processing, but very few sound loud and clear in the street. only htc and iphone 2g to 4s and old nokia n91 are the best for music

Maybe they could try just selling phones with stock android. MAYBE that would HELP SOME. The HTC one on the play store practically doesnt count cuz its so expensive.
