Android isn't suitable for kids as it houses just too much pornographic apps. For a kid, Windows phone 8 is the best. Just my personal opinion.

Not a screen under 4" (except the flip phone)

Did pockets get larger when I wasn't looking...

Why are these things so *big*?

- The Disney Mobile on docomo F-03F is a smartphone aimed for teenagers and adults, especially for the girls since Disney is popular among them (in Japan, of course). So, technically it's not a kid phone. The Smartphone for Juniors 2 SH-02F is definitely aimed for kids.

- There is one smartphone for business made by Fujitsu, called F-04F. It features fingerprint reader. Not to say that iPhone 5S is the first smartphone featuring fingerprint reader since some of Fujitsu's previous series had implemented with it.

- The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are not included in docomo 2013-2014 Spring-Winter Collection. They are exclusive product and had separate banner.

- The limited edition SH-01F DRAGON QUEST is the first smartphone designed in collaboration with SQUARE ENIX, NTT DOCOMO and SHARP. In addition, Panasonic already launched Final Fantasy mobile phone (FOMA P900iV) several years ago.

These are japanese only phones that is offered by NTT Docomo, their largest carrier in Japan.

Most of those units are capable of OneSeg Tv viewing and IP58 certified. Sony is not alone about the IP58 certification with slim profile on handsets, there are many in Japan that isn't heard internationally.
you can check the website of Docomo if you have time.

all these are from Japan Made phones.. NTT DoCoMo is the most advance Telephone Operator based in Japan.
They were the 1st one to bring out the 3G mobile in 2001. back in 2000 Japan was leading in mobile phone technology even until now.. their technology a far more better than international one.. water resistant phones were launched back in 2006.. so..make believe.
