Samsung Galaxy S5 to withstand the elements - read the full textRumors out of Korea indicate that base version of the next iteration of Samsung's Galaxy S flagship line, the Galaxy S5, will come with dust and water resistance. This is similar to the strategy incorporated by Sony in its flagship models like the Xperia Z1, and would be a logical move by Samsung...

But if Android can run on single core pre 1ghz chips well then Im pretty sure that would be flawless.....
However in reality no system can or ever will run flawlessly..

When can i expect the dishwasher phone please :)?

-Aluminum over Poly Carbonate..Some people find it prettier. Survives some situations better.
-Aluminum under Poly carbonate. More expensive, more work to produce, more time to produce, not as easily malleable, generally negates SD slot and removable battery, is much more pain to repair, heats up faster, stays hotter, heat lasts long and take more time to dissipate, bulkier, heavier, more often to interfere with signal, when it gets scratched it looks like you took keys to a car, it can easily ding and dent, early models came out of box customized with scratches, much more pain staking and sometimes near impossible on repairs depending....

Where as Poly Carbonate is also high grade and premium. Many like the look and feel of it as well. It's much easier, cheaper, faster, and more malleable to produce, handles heat much better, handles most falls better, scratches are more hidden, if you ding or dent it you did something really extreme that probably would have broken internals and demolish your metal variant, and so on.

> In reply to wow @ 2013-10-23 16:36 from t7Xh - click to readSo sony invented water proofing?
Where they even the first to use it in mobiles? No and NO!
So Sony is copying.
However since we are talking about copying...Samsung was upgrading mega pixels first. SOny copy
Samsung released first phone with HD play back and recording...Sony and everyone else copy
Samsung released first 12mp phone. Sony copy
Samsung uses Amoled, Sony uses bravia and triluminous to saturate.
Samsung releases high end chips...The general idea is until recently it would take Sony a year to release similar or slightly better...Therefore copied chip.

But it's ridiculous way of thinking.

The "genius" Samsung engineers received burn notices if they don't come up with a flagship like Sony. So they thought the key to success is the IP certs, but unfortunately they are wrong again.

Samsung's new tagline:
"We flop, again"
