Samsung Galaxy S5 to withstand the elements - read the full textRumors out of Korea indicate that base version of the next iteration of Samsung's Galaxy S flagship line, the Galaxy S5, will come with dust and water resistance. This is similar to the strategy incorporated by Sony in its flagship models like the Xperia Z1, and would be a logical move by Samsung...

Samsung has already been recognized as top seller of smartphones. Now to maintain that, they are trying hard. Can't blame them as people always blame quality on the outside and neither software nor performance.

Dust and water resistence is nice, but covered ports are a pain in the butt. I use my charger and headphone ports way more than I would anti-dust and water features. I hope they don't make this standard.

so we have finally have another manufacturer hopefully offering this, about time! All we need now is better battery management and sweet! I hope one day they have smartphones that can last a week without charge, just think Nokia did it with their cheap phones, does anyone remember the battery life of cellphones in the late 90s early 2000s? Woeful, same pattern as smartphones.

Well. No LCD screen (the main reason why I chose the GS4Active), no sale.

Have fun with the AMOLED screen burn in, inaccurate colors, and fragile digitizer.

everyone's copying from everyone.. Apple included.. get real already.. i just want the best phone out there that meets my needs, and adding waterproofing doesn't hurt.. just make sure the core functionality is not compromised.. good screen, 5.2 inches would be nice with tiny or no bezels, fastest CPU, with a big frigging battery, microsd, lots of RAM.
