Mariusmssj, 20 Oct 2013But by that logic how many WP7 devices are getting WP8?none!
the real question is this; how many wp8 devices will get wp8.1 update ( or better put, how many of them will qualify for 8.1 update hardware wise according to Microsoft standards) ???
Mariusmssj, 20 Oct 2013But by that logic how many WP7 devices are getting WP8?Exactly.....if people don't complain when two year old androids don't get latest updates, why do people complain when two year old wp devices don't get wp8 updates, besides WP 7 Just recieved a separate update a couple of months ago,but android 2.3 did'nt get anything new this year........
tonystark.., 20 Oct 2013How many android 2.3 devices are getting android 4.3=ZERO.......But by that logic how many WP7 devices are getting WP8?
Anonymous, 19 Oct 2013Awwwwwwwww, you again :) how are you today? Feeling better?? I understand, can't use your 92... moreGDR3 will be apply to all WP8 phones. maybe they wont get the 3rd column of tiles, but they'll get the rest of what GDR3 will offer.

kurousagi, 20 Oct 2013yet android took jellybean(from cupcake) to be free of lag for their flagships...... maybe the... moresorry bud...since Android runs on Java VM, lag is a natural occurence. it will never go away even if it reaches "Zabiglone" (an Italian dessert).
...maybe if 1024 core and 512gb RAM is used. nah. even if it does, Android will still lag.
Anonymous, 20 Oct 2013Silly comparison and incorrect as well.
How long have WP8 been shipping? How long has And... moreWP 7.x and WP 8.x are 2 different versions altogether since they use different kernels.
Android "versions" are similar to Windows updates - these "versions" are really just tweaks to an existing platform...hence, they cant even be called "versions".
Android "versions" are just a marketing gimmick to get you to buy new hardware since the latest "version" requires better group of hardware. that's why most Android phones wont get the latest "version" due to hardware requirements.
you cant say its the Lumia 900 experience all over again since GDR3 is an update to the current WP version.
ALL existing WP8 phones will get GDR3.
Tech.Chief, 20 Oct 2013That a very good obsevation and funny thing is that its true. Imagine the latest and so expens... moreAgain the same old troll but now with a name.......you need to get a life.....GDR3 is available for every phone with all the features but one small features, whereas on android 90% won't even get an update.......
MobilePowerUser1, 20 Oct 2013Any WP8 can get official GDR3 for free even the cheapest phones. Most Android phones can't get... moreSilly comparison and incorrect as well.
How long have WP8 been shipping? How long has Android been shipping? Better comparison would be to ask how many WP7.x phones can be updated to WP8: ZERO
HTC's 8x is not getting the updated.
sunnyrkts, 20 Oct 2013it took gdr3 to put these things....other minor bt important things would be updated till gdr ... moreThat a very good obsevation and funny thing is that its true. Imagine the latest and so expensive Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925, with all the "high end" specs and 200mp camera is already outdated and can't get the full GDR3 update and as soon as the 1520 hits, it becomes obsolete.
It becomes the Lumia 900 story all over again!
droid., 18 Oct 2013Dude, downloading videos or sending videos to other devices are just a basic function of today... moreUse uc browser to download videos, for YouTube downloads, use mytube or metrotube. Put your videos in pictures, only then you will be able to send them via Bluetooth.
sunnyrkts, 20 Oct 2013it took gdr3 to put these things....other minor bt important things would be updated till gdr ... moreGdr3 brought 3 of the top 4 things asked on the uservoice page of windows phone, they are giving what the majority of users want, they have released third update within a year,so it is improving much faster than what android did in it's early years, and they can't include all features in one update,no os is perfect from the start.....and fyi, there is a back capacitive key,so why you need a back key in browser, you can share video files and wp7.8 just got an update a few months ago........
sunnyrkts, 20 Oct 2013it took gdr3 to put these things....other minor bt important things would be updated till gdr ... moreyet android took jellybean(from cupcake) to be free of lag for their flagships...... maybe they'll put "free of lag" to their mid-range after their "Tiramisu" version of android
