2K is 1920x1080 p resolution. 4K is equal 2*2K each side, i.e. 4K is 2*1920x2*1080p.
Anonymous, 23 Oct 2013Why does it named "4k"? It doesnt even reach 4000 pixelslol lol lol lol

AnonD-44928, 23 Oct 2013not... exactly true. It is at normal viewing distances, but when I'm in bed without my glasses... morethat a amoled problem. its going to puk your eyes at night
AnonD-44928, 23 Oct 2013I also just want to point out that I assume the thickness of this tablet is 19.6mm, not 1.96mm... morethis isnt a tablet. this is just a 4K display made for a tablet. Therefore, the display shown here is 1.96mm, since it doesnt have any internals.
Interesting. Now make it flexible, shrink it to 4-5 inches, add 3D and allow us to use gloves, pens, etc to touch it. ;).
AnonD-44928, 23 Oct 2013I'm sorry that you so sorely misunderstand modern technology. It is not the case that they... morei dont misunderstand anything. i do understand today's limitations in technology. But the way i see it, they take advantage of this situation to earn money. After all, They are a company. They cannot create a perfect device, otherwise theyll loose all that side money they earn troubleshooting the device... its a fact.
I also just want to point out that I assume the thickness of this tablet is 19.6mm, not 1.96mm, as that would be thinner than an AMOLED pannel plus the glass protection, without internals and battery, etc.
yeah, 23 Oct 2013on every news story i keep reading people asking for a better and more capable battery life. p... moreI'm sorry that you so sorely misunderstand modern technology.
It is not the case that they are simply "not working" on better battery life. They are, but better batteries are very difficult to achieve. I saw in a keynote, Samsung admitted that battery power is the biggest bottleneck in today's mobile technology, but there's only so much they can do about it right now. so instead of accomplishing the impossible, by magically making higher capacity batteries that mystically last weeks, (perhaps in a decade or two, we will have mastered the carbon nanotube reinforced silicon Li-Ion battery and made it available, but that's still a while off)
All we can do right now is make the hardware more battery efficient, and that's tougher when people are also crying out for more and more power. It's happening, but the process takes time.
AnonD-44928, 23 Oct 2013not... exactly true. It is at normal viewing distances, but when I'm in bed without my glasses... morethats weird. ive used many devices (including the samsung galaxy s4, i work for a phone company) and ive never seen red pixels stand out like that. ill keep that in mind for next time i use the phone
yeah, 23 Oct 2013there's no point on reaching that mark. human eye cant differentiate 400 from 500ppinot... exactly true. It is at normal viewing distances, but when I'm in bed without my glasses on (-8.5 vision) and I'm holding my phone a few inches away from one eye so I can read the screen, and I see mostly the red dots of the red sub-pixels littering the place on my 441ppi Galaxy S4, though even just moving to an RGB matrix would help that. I can see the pixels of things like the HTC One, but not odd red subpixels standing out.
However on a tablet, doing so wouldn't really happen as I wouldn't be able to see the whole screen at once. I'd say the 365 ppi is warranted, but anything higher would be silly.
AnonD-199181, 23 Oct 2013I dont get it.... Why would we need that in tablets!? I would rather see 100 amp batteries tha... moreon every news story i keep reading people asking for a better and more capable battery life. people want manufacturers to work on battery more than anything else, but its clear that they dont want to do this. please remember that when a device malfunctions due to battery, it opens a door for them to have us charged for maintenance, or in some cases, get a new device. Thats another way for them to keep charging us for a device that should just work.
All phone users are used to charging our phones on a daily basis. Their goal is to continue supplying a battery that just lasts that, a day. Not to better it
AnonD-43357, 23 Oct 2013i hope to see one of this 4K displays in the next xperia tablet. xperia z tablet was a no go f... moreI can bet on Xperia p has only 275ppi would beat any screen available with 330ppi. It's the whitemagic, Japanese display is behind that one including the triluminus.
Next Xperia tablet please!
AnonD-43357, 23 Oct 2013i hope to see one of this 4K displays in the next xperia tablet. xperia z tablet was a no go f... moreThat sounds good, but tab-Xperia Z's full hd display was better than phone-Xperia Z display.
i hope to see one of this 4K displays in the next xperia tablet. xperia z tablet was a no go for me because of the inferior resolution. for me this is not acceptable for a high end product.
