Lame then. And worse for them there are better camera phones out there already today and soon they will become even more irrelevant if they intend to skip on OIS.
I wish they would change their shape and remove most of the touchwiz crap. It causes all their phones to lag like crazy.
Looks like Samsung has stopped innovating. My next phone will be a Lumia.
I'm still standing with my S3 and Note 2. I'd replace my S3 with upcoming S5 if only S5 come with:
- Newly redesigned TouchWiz
- 5.3 UHD Super Amoled Display 1440x2560. OLED would be much better
- 4.000 mAh battery
- Less than 8 mm thick
- 16 MP rear camera with an OIS
- 2 GB RAM or higher
- 32 GB storage
Micro SD slot and removable battery are not important for me. If upcaming S5 come without OIS then I'll go for LG G3.

As much as I am an S4 owner, I must admit, if they were thinking of including an OIS camera on the S5 surely they would have got planning and production started around the release date of the S4...? I know none of this may be true, but still. Would have thought they'd whack on an even batter camera for the S5. Not like they do not have the power or funding.
AnonD-189521, 28 Nov 2013Since when did Apple design Galaxy phones?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Inc._v._Samsung_Electronics_Co.,_Ltd.
In 2014, it's worthless to buy a flagship without OIS.
I doubt this will be true. As the writer said. Its just rumour. There is a push among companies to develop better cameras, including ios and low light and better flash, being a samsung s4 owner i think the camera is good, BUT compared to some of the competition it is very lacking especially in low light. Poor and not very clear at all. The s5 is meant to be a redesign from top to bottom and so its likely it will get treatment all over the device. Including build, display, storage, size, materials, camera, software. With googles upcoming RAW update for cameras it would also make sense for the modules to be totally new and now just higher megapixels. Heres hoping anyway

They just lost a potential customer.
Love my S4 but a lot of the low light photos come out blurry due to handshake as it has a 31mm equivalent focal length but too often choses a 1/17 of a second shutter speed. OIS would help greatly.
Copying Apple's lack of innovation, Samsung should be sued.
samsung lol
Wow, I didn't expect this from Samsung, i mean flagship of 2014 no OIS on its camera....wtf is that... this is so apple, year after year same thing...
The best thing that happened to Samsung, in my opinion, was Galaxy Note 2... in rest, they spammed the market with overpriced products and lagging flagships...am i the only one noticing these stuffs ?
anyway i see oppo is coming with some amazing products, they definitely caught my attention.

"For one, OIS camera modules are thick and might not fit in the thin Galaxy S5"
When has that stopped them in the past? Most of the Galaxy phones (with the exception of the ones designed by Apple) have had a quasimodo hump.
