Samsung, have you ever think to replace those amoled screens????
Have you even think about amoled burn???
I wouldnt buy any samsung flagship as long as it use amoled screens
I want a 2K screen on my laptop, not on my 5" phone.
2K phone screen = poor battery performance
Full hd for most cases is more than enough, its not like a smartphone is gonna use 42" as a sceeen, this really feels like a gimmick and will not benefit the phone in anyway? Why not create a mix mo e ink, and lcd in the front, that way it would be really easy to view messages in the sunlight at the same time be able to conserve important power
Why samsung, you tricked us again. I just bought note III and my phone will look old again. can you release flagship device after 1 year. months following the release of samsung galaxy S5, S6 will come out. that means my phone will be ancient after a couple of months.
outdated, 05 Dec 2013Snapdrag 800 is a old 2013 chipset....who want to buy old tech..we going to 2014 unless sam... moreI bet u've never use more than 50% of snapdragon 800's processing power. 805 is just a gimmick to 99.99% of the phone users out there. So as the 2k screen. who will ACTUALLY need a 2k screen on a phone? when 99.9% of the PC/laptop's screen is still 1080p or below?
feeblegoat, 05 Dec 20132K is technically FHD, or 1920x1080. It should either be 1440p, or 2.5k, or QHD. 2k isn't right.2k is 2k. 1080p is not 2k
Bring it on!
Can't wait.. Time to come back to samsung who have perfected the android device.
2K on a 5" screen? Isn't this overkill? Regular HD on my 5.3" Note looks fantastic, why bother with anything over FHD on 5" screens?
Samsung better upgrade their entire Galaxy Tab lineup to FHD instead of the measly 1024x800 they've been serving us for the past 3 generations.
Shootergod, 04 Dec 2013Typical noob, they did not show any benchmark I guess @_@ and the rest using the same method an... moreMy fren why u protecting samsung's shame?samsung do not know who u are or care about u.Stop being fanoy and admit samsung is shameful company,so shameful they should replace there name to SHAMESUNG!!
why don't they focus on improving color reproduction, brightness, power consumption instead
but most people sold by easy numbers rather than true intrinsic quality
Phones will soon have to be sold with their own briefcase to carry them around, theres no pockets big enough to fit them. .
Snapdrag 800 is a old 2013 chipset....who want to buy old tech..we going to 2014
unless samsung willing to sell this gimmick at $US 399 price..
I have a few words to share :
2K is definitely tonnes better than 1080p for sure , Nobody disagrees with that.
Agree or not , more ppi = more quality/clarity.Other things like color gamut etc. also do matter.
Here's the problem :
-I don't have any native content with me that has 2K resolution.I would make good sense if GS5 has 4k video recording.
-It may be good for apps but for games frame rate will drop significantly unless they use a way more powerful GPU.
-Each app will take up more storage and more RAM for scaling up/natively running.
I think Note IV will be solid product and more refined than GS5.
Same happend with GS4.Note III seems lot more refined than GS4.
I have GS4 and I am extremely satisfied with it.Every device has flaws in their own ways.I have an iPad and it has flaws too.
P.S. People called iPhone 4 overkill when it was released saying that 200-250 ppi is more than enough.People said 1080p is overkill too saying 720p is more than enough.
2K is technically FHD, or 1920x1080. It should either be 1440p, or 2.5k, or QHD. 2k isn't right.
