Does the E71 upgrade allow you to "copy & paste" using the calenda oppointments app? I can't figure out how it can be done with my current version of E71. Thank you all for your contributions!!

I flashed to euro 1 from o2 branded firmware.

No issues other than when trying to restore my previous memory card back up.

It corrupted the phone so i restarted it, then needless to say the phone wouldn't restart just displayed a message along the lines "startup failed, contact service provider".

So, i did a hard re-set (with phone turned off, hole down green call button, *, and number 3 key until phone fully starts up). This solved the problem and i just restored the settings and everything manually.

I've always had nokia's and i like them, especially the e71. I'm also of the opinion that software updates are only issued because they are needed. Granted, i do think nokia should get there products to a more acceptable performance level before release, but i will stick with them and persevere as i like them.

Hey folks! Updated my darling E71's firmware the sec it became available to me around 12 jan, no regrets, my baby has become even more sleeker and faster, not to mention a lot hotter! No really, she does heat up a lot now and the battery gets a lot more toasty! Battery life has improved dramatically, but wanted to know, do any of u also getting the hot battery syndrome?

Since the day I have ad this update my handset as crashed on me total 5 times.

I ahd done the previous update as well and had been using it since without any crashes ever and I use everything on the handset

None of the previous 2 versions hanged on me ever even after so many installations.

Majority of the time the internet radio(which is soo good, I love it) when operated on wifi causes the crash.

Hi folks,

I've got the european white steel version, and I started with the 100. etc firmware. Updated to the 110. version and recently updated to the 200. version.

Works like a charm for me, especially the power reduction..

I highly recommend it! And there weren't any glitches or anything, so N-series rules....!

> In reply to abc @ 2009-01-17 14:24 from uCjyhonestly I haven't seen the purplish tint since I've updated, and it was present before. Of course it depends on the light conditions etc but hope I'll never see it again. Good luck.

> In reply to AC @ 2009-01-21 16:14 from Mygwthe backup is mostly for contacts, calendar and messages. Usually you have to check what you wish to back up but on apps it always may be a slight chance to lose some of them. The lag problem you reported is not present in mine and the gr8est thing I noticed is the Internet Speed. I am not sure that my provider [orange Ro] has not made some changes but, the download speeds reached up to 3200 kps. The difference is segnifiant because before the top speed barely reached 500 kps.
My oppinion is that Nokia E71 works better after this upd8 but I'm w8ing for the next firmware :)

I installed the latest firmware yesterday (UK). The only thing I've noticed is that the performance of the phone has slowed significantly i.e. navigating between screens, opening and replying to message, opening apps etc. Now I get quite a lag between these tasks where the screen may go semi-transparent for a second or 2 before performing the action. Additionally I did a full backup of the phone first and a restore after the firmware update, and still lost half my apps and all my screensavers amongst other things. So, I would think carefully before doing this, for me the fixes are not worth the extra hit on performanc and the hassle of re-installing a load of stuff.

UK user on 3. I changed my product code to a Euro code and updated the software fine, but as soon as I tried using the phone it crashed and froze on the start up screen. May just be the software isn't compatible with 3 so be careful.
