> In reply to Flames @ 2009-01-13 15:45 from 3HMLi am not a nokia-hater. i even have a nokia phone myself! nokia N82 that is.. but that's not the point here. i'm just telling the truth. what's the point of publishing this pathetic article? they always make nokia phones "special" or is it really that special?lolz. gsmarena's a nokia fan site and that's an honest truth.
@Vacca. i don't hate nokia. i oh so LOVE nokia. that's why i have an N82 with me and i'm lovin it. however, this article is so biased that you would guess that gsmarena is a die-hard nokia fan site. you're the one who needs to grow up and move on. you're also bias.. a die-hard nokia fan. lolz

should improve on the alarm clock to be able to customise multiple alarms easily like samsung i.e. can select individual days and not just one day or week or daily.

Bravo Nokia! E71 is the most complete all in one mobile phone in the world at the moment so far. It almost perfect n everything just inside a very slim stainless steel thin body. I love it very much!

> In reply to Wonderkid @ 2009-01-13 23:33 from nx7KThat's the problem with Apple. My cousin wanted to change som Apple stuff he has to other brands, but then he realized that he had to change or convert so many only Apple locked software and things that he gave up and is now "stuck" with Apple for better or worse, and he now calls it gagdet prison. They are so scared that people will leave them that they lock up everything you use connected to a Mac to Apple so no other company or software can be compatible. You might as well have a iphone, walk in a Apple jacket, Apple shoes and use Apple underwear, cause if one things turns Apple then they will find a way Apple anything that you might wanna add to home, it's actually kinda sick.

> In reply to JPD @ 2009-01-13 22:27 from ThYa@JPD: I love you too! :-) Actually, I'm fairly knowledgeable about mobiles (I used to run fonebox.com, but no time now, so it's out of date and broken.) I was not bashing Nokia, I like them, but I am allowed to express my opinion and there is no need to say nasty things, as I'm not tryng to start a flame war, just help Nokia. Anyway, I have a Mac, and there is no software updater software - at least, there was not when I bought my E71. Have a beer on me!

> In reply to Wonderkid @ 2009-01-13 16:20 from nx7KWhy are you such a n00b? Use the Software updater, hell they more often than not are found with the Nseries CDs or search google? Noob to the internet too? But there is one thing I will agree, the update wiping the entire device where as when you update the iphone it saves all your contacts and programs unless you're a n00b and didn't jailbreak your iphone where you will lose cydia and jailbroken stuff, but wonderkid probably knew that because he knows so much about Nokia and other phones in general. Nah I am kidding, he's a goof. By the way Wonderkid, get the nseries software and do a backup of your device, you can also copy contacts over, then update and copy the stuff back... better google it, noob. You're my least favorite person on here ever.

The day SE, SAMSUNG, BB, HTC or whoever else release an update as big as this THEN GSMArena will post it, they ACTUALY did post an article about the HTC Touch Diamond's ROM Update which added an extra frequency band, updates like that and this one make front page, until SE AND SAMSUNG release updates that big theres no point in posting their pointless updates, okay? Now grow up and get over it.

Thanks for the tip GSMarena! I did the update on my E71 that i was basically not using and now it's a very good phone. I don't understand people that say the can't find the update, do you even own a Nokia phone or are just Iphone owners talking cr** as usual? You don't look for Nokia updates online, you connect the phone to your pc, open the Nokia software program that u have on your PC and click automatic update and it will find the firmware update itself from the Nokia centre, then it will download, install and update itself. Get a life iphone owners, don't just be talkning nonsense on a thread that is supposed advice people and help people.

> In reply to Wonderkid @ 2009-01-13 16:20 from nx7KTo update your nokia.
Run NSU (nokia Software Updater) then, click upgrade firmware. Or whatever the icon says.
You don't have to search the announcement on the internet. Your Nokia Software Updater (the CD you got from buying nokia phone) will do it for you.

If Nokia improved the earpiece design (like they did in E63), the E71 would be perfect.
As it is, I`d just pass...

Although I love my E71, the fact it is almost impossible (correction, totally impossible) to find this so called update (why no link GSM Arena?) on Nokia's multiple websites, is evidence on it's own why Apple have got it so right with the way they handle updates and apps on the iPhone / iPod Touch. All you do is click an icon and it's all done automatically from the device. I own a Mac and once Nokia do publish a link to this latest download, I wonder how easy it will be to carry out the upgrade. Or will I need to borrow a PC? And then, as per my former Nokia N95 8G, will I lose everything in the device during the process? Come on Nokia - you've created great hardware - now fix the upgrading process!
