Stop growing the phone inches by inches year after year SONY!
So PAINFUL TO WATCH.. Large and ugly.
Rather do it in one shot.. release 8 incher tablets already!!

Sony's Timescape is one of the clutter free and elegant looking UIs out there. Although you are entitled to your opinion, if you think the UIs of LG/Samsung are better than Sony's you have a juvenile taste.
Sony's displays do need a major step-up though, which is possible if they dumped the mediocre TFT panels and put up the IGZO panels by JDI or SLCD variants used by HTC. Even LG's IPS panels would be a forward step.
Mobilemaster, 05 Jan 2014Well for example 2 cores are better than one, but 8 Cores are not useful.stop generalizinig like that. 8 cores CAN be more useful than 2, it all depends on the software. but people nowadays think that more cores are just better no matter what, that was my point.

The people are uneducated and stupid nowadays so they'll think higher ppi is better. just like they think more cores are better. don't blame the manufacturers for this, they're basically forced to do this.
It's completely False.Sony said they wont announce Xperia Z2 at CES.And there haven't been any rumors from new flagship.Sony has great support for its previous flagship buyers.

Sony really need to take care of 2 things. First the UI which is to say, boring and ugly as hell. Second is the screen. I have compared it to the likes of Nokia, samsung and htc and the colours are washed out and not vibrant like the others on the sony.
I don't get the logic behind having higher than 1080p resolution on 5 to 6-inch devices. The difference is not visible unless you stick the device on your face, and it will just consume more power. Is it just a "numbers" game? If its is, it makes sense because to a regular, uneducated consumer, more always mean "better". It's the same reason why CPU makers are racing to make more cores rather than better cores.

That's exactly what I did when I released the Z as was still saving to buy it and instead I bought the Z1. again I know that there will be a better phone that'll come out but again, for me it's just too soon. I may be saying this because I got a Z1 but for others who don't have this is definitely a great news. Peace. :)
Hope they increase the size of the camera sensor and improve the battery life. The screen resolution will scare anyone after seeing how horrible the Z1 performed even with a 3000mAh battery in it.

If sony keeps up with the upadtes I don't care if they release a new flagship every month.

Samsung does the same with Galaxy S and Note series and even HTC does it too.
So, no surprise there and you should had thought of that before buying Z1.
It is the normal product cycle so what are you complaining about?
Back to the thread, if it is smaller than z1 I might buy it and yes, I know that at around spetember there will be a revamped version of it. If I Want that, I will wait for it. As simple as that.

I highly doubt this will be announced at CES. I don't think the Snapdragon 805 will even be ready before Q2 at the earliest. I think Sony will probably introduce the Z1 Mini and maybe a Tablet Z refresh at CES and leave any other devices until at least MWC. It's too soon for a refresh anyway, although I guess they are worried about Samsung coming out with a 2K Galaxy S5 in March. I think a new flagship in June/July released alongside a refreshed Z Ultra would make the most sense.
Its interesting to see the latest technology in new devices but i think its not fair for the owners of Z1 to see their phone is no more a flagship in less than 5 months, exactly what happened to Z owners.
I think one flagship in middle of each year will suffice for Sony. They can focus on mid-ranges and entry level phones and of course updating their old phones instead.
