beware of fake when searching online.
i bought one so called htc touch cruise 09 for 329USD and it turned out to be fake. it was 'HTY'. check this forum post:

Think about this: I'm sure a lot of people when they hear the word "Touch" they immediately think of HTC (I know I do). And let´s face it... who in its right mind would let a household name (like Touch or Touch Diamond) go away... Same goes for the cruise... It's a great marketing strategy. The idea is to get either the product or the brand to be at the top of people's minds. I'm just waiting to see leaks of the '09 Touch HD... (even if right now it's codenamed Miranda... or Rockita... or something like that)...

I don´t think, using the same name for a mobile is a bad thing. It is all about Marketing, just as one of the posters pointed out before, if you have the 2008 and are pleased and happy with and your friend comes along with a 2009 you´ll want it to have it aswell imo.

Sadly i was one of the "bad from fabric cruise victim" with that BT Hardware error. But i really loved that HTC so yea, telling me hey 2009 NEW CRUISE!!! defently trapes me ;).

for a moment i thougt i read the codename as "HTC LOLITA."
but, it turns out to be "HTC IOLITE."

If they only went VGA with it. But then they will put Diamond in jeopardy, right?
Like this it has no major advantage over my Polaris... So no upgrade for me!

looks like htc prefer the style of the orbit 2 over there own touch cruise as from the front it doesnt look any different. nice upgrade though although i think ill be going from the orbit 2 to the xda serra which for some reason gsmarena havent picked up on yet. or the xda flint for that matter!

Just make the screen at least 3.2 inches and give it an optional 20-key qwerty touch screen (vertically and horizontally)... and you'll have the PERFECT phone!!!!!!!!_

the obviously doesnt suck cuz most if not all phone sites like it

it is also looked up to by almost all phone companies and when fones r reffered to they look to see if it is a good iphone competitor
