I am trying to stay away from contracts for the last few years, they are stupid long at 24 months won't touch them with a barge pole. Sim free it is, and no commitments.
the price is way to high but will fall soon. 3 months ago the xperia z1 was 550 euros. since one month you can get it for 450 euros. the same will happen with the z1 compact. just wait 8 - 10 weeks and the price will be much better!
Some people comments are too funny, like the one saying that for this price I might as well get a xperia z1....... your missing the point, this phone is for people who want all the goodness of the xperia z1 just in a smaller device and that's what you get. I also don't understand why people expect it to cost a lot less then the z1, they probably cost similar to make as they have the same hardware so why should it be drastically cheaper???
I personally really like it and there's a good chance I'll get it on my next contract unless the HTC M8 blows me away
Commentator, 07 Jan 2014The UK price of GBP 440 when converted into Indian price is around INR 45,000. Such an insane ... moreWhen it will be launched internationally and arrive to India the pricing would be a lot different. It all goes down to the regional consumer purchase prowess.
Aidey1968, 07 Jan 2014That £440 price seems high when the Z1 is £479 direct on the Sony UK websiteThe 479 pounds on sony mobile uk site is VAT excluded, the 440 pounds for the Z1 compact is VAT included. So the Z1 including VAT is priced at 575 Pounds. And the Z1 compact excluding VAT is priced at 367 Pounds.
don't you people know the difference between a pre-order price and a normal price? but still, let's hope the original price isn't too high
Anonymous, 07 Jan 2014phew 530 euros unlocked, nasty pricing there, hope it drops to some more reasonable levelspretty juicy price...they can use that for a while until someone else makes a similar spec "normal" sized phone
I like the spec, tho 4.3 a little bit small for me, so I've bought z1, really love it.

Stupid Sony, Non removable battery = no sale. Xperia ZR is a still a more attractive flagship.
