Perhaps if Nokia stopped putting phones out that aren't as refined as they should be, then they wouldn't be losing as much as they have. The N96 is the PRIME example of that. The N85 should have been put at the front of their plans but with a Xenon flash and an exciting front design. But hey Nokia, if you want to be beaten..

why argue over something that does not bring any benefit to your lives. I think every brand has its good phones and bad phones. Its just that nokia have been bright in marketing the same phone/s in different models. Out of their 100s of models, all the phones do basically the same thing except for one or two different features. But i would like to add that a new era has dawned and whether or not symbian can still rule the cellular world is the question to be asked???

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-01-27 01:54 from ibax - click to readIt's a percentage of a percentage.
40 - 3 = 37 no matter what it is.
The difference between 40/100 and 37/100 is 3/100, the 100's cancel each other out.
Expressed as a percentage 3/40 = 7.5% or 7.5/100. (Which is what a percentage is).

no need change to percentage
cause the 40 is already a percentage so with the 3
percentage = %

It doesn't change that the difference between 40 and 37 equals 7.5%

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-01-26 21:01 from P%nm - click to readOn a typical day i would have let you stew in your ignorance but i couldn't resist the urge to poke fun at you again.
Quite to the contrary the handset business generates twice as much sales as the Nokia-Siemens joint venture. In the last quarter the handset busainess generated 8.1bn Eur against 4.3bn Eur generated by the joint venture. So once again you are way off the mark and i think it would be in your best interest to familiarise yourself with some basic accounting.lol. Now that will be something new for the day that you didn't know, which i'm glad to educate you on.
Don't delude yourself that handsets aren't a crucial part of Erricson and Motorola. The simple truth about the issue, without getting into a lot of detail about it is that they have dismally failed to conquer the juggernaut, being NOKIA. Them being diversified doesn't mean the handset divisions aren't important just because they are perfoming poorly. OK!!!!!!!!!!
As for the rest of the stuff the stuff you posted, being a TMT analyst, i feel insulted to be told such things..... but it's cool though....

> In reply to Flames @ 2009-01-26 20:16 from 3HMM - click to readWhy don't you tell me something new, such as anywhere on these forums where I have ever said, suggested or implied that Nokia aren't number one?
That's the problem with blind fanboy devotion it can't handle the truth.
Nokia lost 7.5% of it's share of the world market.
The handset segment isn't the largest part of Nokia's business the joint venture with Siemen's in providing network equipment is far larger.
This is also true for Ericsson and Motorola, handsets are not crucial to their core business.
