Qualcomm if you read this please make a 6 core variant.
Two 400 krait cores as dual 800 krait and rest 4 cores A7 for low consumption target. SD 802 or SD 650. 4 a7 independent cores for everything like mediatek and dual 800 krait for games and powerhungry tasks
610 is a idiotic move and qualcomm thinks of pricing it more.customers are not idiots
they should not have released 610.why 610 instead it should have been 415.the difference between 410 and 610 is very less.instead they should have increased the 410 features.
615 is a killer chipset but GPU and CPU clock speed?
Anonymous, 24 Feb 2014Not quite =) Estimates : 14, 10, 7, 5nm (2019) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semiconducto... morei can agree with all you saying about smartphone but please dont make desktop have same situation with smartphone. even windows 7 ultimate 64 bit need at least 4GB ram for minimum requirement. dont even mention games like crysis or battlefield 3. at least be logical when comparing smartphones with pc desktop :D
The Nexus 6 is purported to come equipped with an 8-Core 64 bit Cortex-A57 processor: www.ubergizmo.com/2014/02/nexus-6-relies-on-64-bit-8-core-snapdragon-810-rumor/
It's powerful, but still not powerful enough to run Angry Birds at full speed.

I do agree that eventually they will have to move to 64 memory addressing. It was the same when desktop CPUs and eventually Operating Systems started migrating to 64 bit architecture. It was available, but no apps made use of the extra address space. Even today, the vast majority of desktop apps run without the need for more than 3GB RAM. Games excluded of course.
Then again, more address space will be hugely beneficial for multitasking.
Anybody for a phone with 8GB RAM?
Soo the 615 has 8 lower end cores of arm-v8 and a adreno 405 gpu... it appears to be much better than the 801 and maybe even the 805. Why is it in the 600 series??

AnonD-184638, 24 Feb 2014You do realize that your phone cannot play videos on 120fps yet
60fps is the android limit!Nope, it shouldn't either.
Record @ 120fps and playback the same file @ 30fps to give you a slow-mow effect. All @ 1080p.
Hopefully these 64bits come with 4GB of RAM otherwise they are just useless.
AnonD-184638, 24 Feb 2014You do realize that your phone cannot play videos on 120fps yet
60fps is the android limit!Android is based on Linux and does not have built-in hardcoded limitations, its more of a hardware limitation. If some oem decide to make a phone with display capable of 120 hertz refresh rate then Android is already ready for it.
Not that it matters, the poster you replied to probably ment 1080p 120fps video for slowmo playback at 30fps.
Anonymous, 24 Feb 2014What we really need, especially from a handset perspective, is not so much 64-bit code, but ra... moreBUT!! There's but there. If SoC manufacturers keep on insisting to follow Moore's Law, well, the next processor (after Intel's 14nm processor) would posses a 7nm manufacturing process. And if they still insisting on following the law, with the mindset smaller manufacturing process is better, then the next processor would be a 3nm processor. At this stage, the manufacturing of the processor would be extremely hard, since they'll have to take account of the effect of quantum physics to the said processor.
So, for me, having a 64-bit mobile processor is better than having a 7nm 32-bit mobile processor.

I don't really get it why iFans really try to show off their 64bit processor when most people know it's a gimmick
Try to brag about your armv8 processor and how nobody yet has it! :p

Anyway, even if your post had made sense, which it didnt even by the most vague definition of the word, Sony really needed a respectable flagship now, the size of the Z1 was a disaster, this one fixes most of the bad things about Z1 except the length, i am sure Z2 will have good battery life, the IPS display should be able to let far more light through and easily shave off 40% battery drain, as already proven by Z1 Compact.
Now Sony should give us a smaller version of this, 4.5 Full HD will be nice.

Personally I would have liked that. Buy a Z2 now and in a couple of months it's outdated already. In other words, not a flagship anymore. The Ultra phones though, they are to big for my liking. What I need is my laptop on my desk and my phone in my pocked. Not something in between ;)
