Secondly i mean it will be EVEN easier to swap faulty parts out, you could do it yourself without needing any knowledge on how to repair phones and swap in a new part.
Its a fantastic idea and i really look forward to seeing what comes from this, waiting to see other companies follow suit.

when a single thing goes wrong, you don't replace everything, just the faulty mechanism.
... and btw, at $50 for a new phone, its not even gonna be worth fixing things. Clearly google is on a rampage to kill the earth. $100 tablets, $50 phones.. people are gonna throw them out like candy wrappers.
It is one of the most interesting projects! If it gets well managed it will be the future of mobile phones. Imagine just replace one module by another to repair or upgrade...

This posting is a LANDMARK announcement for the mobile phone industry. DIY phone design is truly here... only limitation appears to be the size of the device which may determine which manufacture to go for once everyone rides the bandwagon.
