M and M, 14 Mar 2014Haha, is a 16MP picture not enough for you and you desperately want a 19 MP?? In fact, I don't... moreIt's about the lens, not about the resolution.
hexacore what a joke. its marketing. the main cpu will mainly run on the quad, so really a quad core. a true hexacore is 6 cores on one die,(chip) Like the Octocore thats a dual quad core. the only true ocotcore is Mediatek M6592 as this has 8 cores on 1 die. OCTOCORE Cpu, its not hard. do the maths Samsung
AnonD-107998, 14 Mar 2014Oh God, yes stop that blind fanboysm If only GSMArena do blind comparison. The obvious choice... moreI agree, the 1020 is the ONLY reasonable camera-oriented phone, every other crap like this big-display point and shot is just a stupid joke of stupid samsung "designers".
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2014It's not my fault you did not look at the review, see the samples or read that I mentioned it ... moreOh God, yes stop that blind fanboysm
If only GSMArena do blind comparison. The obvious choice will be 1020
Never mind, i'll stick with my rx100
AnonD-39775, 14 Mar 2014i hope will be full 19 mp in 16:9. otherwise is useless. 4:3 sensors must dieHaha, is a 16MP picture not enough for you and you desperately want a 19 MP?? In fact, I don't even think it's a new 19MP sensor, more the 16 MP upscaled :P
Still AMOLED?
What a Shamesung...
panos, 14 Mar 2014note 3 camera wins the 1520 ?? xa...xa...you must be joking....It's not my fault you did not look at the review, see the samples or read that I mentioned it that way.
Get over the blind fanboyism
Love my S4 Zoom, this will be even better.
i hope will be full 19 mp in 16:9. otherwise is useless. 4:3 sensors must die
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2014Did you see Note 3 vs Lumia 1520 camera? Note 3 nearly wins. And that is with smaller sensor, ... moreMy xperia acro s beats lumia 1520 in sharpness and low light video. I don't know between both picture quality because of both device have different screen type, pixel and size to view the picture.
But both of this device have great camera quality.
M and M, 14 Mar 2014Pretty much everyone bashes samsung systematically, their disgusting, production-centric strat... moreI'm afraid that's simply not true on several counts...
Firstly - "pretty much everyone" doesn't bash Samsung - I suspect the tens of millions who buy their products every year certainly don't - so that's a wild generalisation with zero fact behind it...
But also - let's remember why Sammy is #1 at the moment (and I say at the moment, as I think, as the song goes, the only way is down - for them) Sammy was the first to really pander to the hardcore spec-chasing mobile phone enthusiast - right back to the GS1 and 2 - the specs were miles ahead of the competition - not because they wanted to make them, but because PEOPLE wanted those specs... the issue I have with them (and Android) now - is that specs can only go so far and other companies (notably Sony) have caught up and are now producing much nicer looking phones, and this year for the first time, the Galaxy flagship is no longer best in class for specs (first time in five years) - this to me says Sammy are resting on their laurels a bit too much...
But as for making differently designed phones - you have to applaud Sammy for creating the Zoom range - it's no different to the N93i range that Nokia tried many moons ago (I had one - the 'transformer' phone) - and it was a great concept... the problem these days is that every phone looks identical - a boring flat slab...
Anything that bucks this trend gets brownie points from me.. it's just a shame, yet again, Sammy haven't put the effort into the G5 Zoom - and only marginally improved its specs...
:/
it's definitely a niche product, and what saddens me most is that in order for this to be really viable - like most have said, it needs to have the oomph of the G5 behind it...
not having a 1080p screen when the videos/pictures you can take will be HD is the first mis-step (ridiculous)
but the iffy processor and only 2gb RAM - when the criticism of last year's version was that it was too sluggish, etc. - won't convert anyone...
I honestly had a play with the S4 Zoom and it's remarkably small - this talk of bulk is nonsense, unless you actively want a wafer for a phone - this is a solid-sized, good-looking phonera (camphone?)
I've had Sammy phones for the last 4 years now (back since the G2) and I think Android now has plateaued - any phone whether it's Z2 / GS5 / LG2 / HTC1, whatever it is, you're going to get the same smooth / fantastic experience. I now want something different, I want a fantastic camera and I really had my eye on this, but if these specs are true then it's like buying a 2 year old phone and having it for 2 years... no thanks...
I honestly think I'll be getting the 1020 successor whatever it may be (not even announced yet) - but after the 1020 vs GS4 Zoom comparisons of last year, I can't even imagine what the 1820(?) will have in store this year... a real shame, I think this has cemented my move from Android... :/
kaiZen, 14 Mar 2014funny that it's always the same people here bashing Samsung.Pretty much everyone bashes samsung systematically, their disgusting, production-centric strategy is more and more obvious compared to every other maker. Everyone makes phones with specs and design to please their customers; samsung just make what THEY want, which means most of their products suck.
S4 zoom has already lost to lumia1020 in comparisons. So this one will be another Failure.
Sony XZ2 & Nokia Lumia are much better than this crap phone-camera hybrid.
last SGS4 zoom was full of lag and has no amazement for work.why Samsung just play with specs??????!!!!!
funny that it's always the same people here bashing Samsung.
boring and epic fail! Samsung time is done!
I hope they have redesigned the S5 zoom to address the main gripes of the S4 zoom. The S4 zoom was too big to be a phone and too expensive to be a PnS camera. The lens is also to slow at tele which means you need to crank up the ISO or risk camera shake with 90% of your photos.
oh come on samsung! Not this again!
they should have used folded camera lens like those used in cybershot. This way the lens won't come out and the body will be just 15mm thick around the lens area. This thickness could be utilised by implementing larger sensor too.
