Anonymous, 16 Apr 2014How is that??? Did you port gear manager app huh??? i did nothing with the Gear 2. Though I knew that iPhone does not work with Gear 2; but, out of curiosity I tried to pair my iPhone 5s, os 7.0.4 with Gear 2 and it paired. I made calls from a 10 m distance and talked successfully. Samsung tried make us understand that it does not work with any other device except galaxy, so that you buy both.

I use Pebble with my Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, and even when putting my phone on my right pants pocket with the pebble on my left wrist, I occasionally gets disconnection. This is good move from Samsung, as long they can get 100% connection between the Gear and the phones, I'm in.
If it runs on Android, why not compatible with all Androids? It's just common sense.
Samsung apparently is going down the Apple road of restriction to their own particular universe. Thats why I've never considered acquiring an Apple phone and I guess Samsung will be added to the list. Hope the Moto 360 is open to any phone.
The galaxy gear is a good unit but they shot themselves in the foot with restriciting it to galaxy phones only (and only some of them). Why not have the watch like the sony smartwatch where it's compatible with damn near all with the necessary hardware? Think sammy are trying to monopolise a bit here.
It does not work with s4 mini dual sim. In fact, the gear fit manager crashes on this phone :(
Galaxy Gear 2 also works with a jailbroken iphone 5s. Please, believe me, I myself tested successfully. However, it didnot work with any non-jailbroken iphone
I still prefer my pebble at this point. It pairs perfectly with any android phone running OS 4 and above, works with iOS, works with other etc....
I'll see once Android Wear goes live.I love my Note 10.1 but can't see my self being limited to Samsung.
Ahhh...with pretty much all there is...and not just only 20...and not just from one brand.
Samsung is obviously trying to pull an Apple. They have market dominance, they want to force you to use their own accessories.
You have a Samsung smartwatch? Good, now you are stuck with a galaxy, whether you want it or not. That is the idea.
Anonymous, 16 Apr 2014Yay, 20 devices. How many do other smartwatches work with? For example Sony, as a guy here said, works will every Android phone which has 4.0
It works with the HTC One M8 - theres a video on youtube regarding it.
